Hi, ok so I've been playing around with WINUAE again
But first have a look at this video on the "internet archive webpage". It's from 1990 and it's a TV programme I remember watching called The Computer Chronicles. This episode is all about the NEW Amiga 3000
It lasts about 30mins, and shows as well as other things, NewTec's Video Toaster in action, and the new Workbench 2.0
Watch out for the news item at the end about laptops, made me chuckle
I spent some time this week seeing if I could create a REAL Amiga hard drive on WINUAE. By this I mean I plugged in an IDE drive via USB to my PC, ran WINUAE, then formatted the drive from Workbench. I think it has worked, boots up in WINUAE anyway. But I haven't got an Amiga to test it on so a bit of a pointless project really
Anyone have an Amiga, (in the UK that is) that has a 3.5" IDE port? Do you want to test it out? PM me
But at least I might have found a use for the old Xbox hard drives after all 10gb is quite big for an Amiga

I tried the xbox and i did not have much luck wwith some of the aga titles so i just use my real amiga
if you just want to play a few games coinops has a few of the amiga classics, and an amiga addon pack is flying about.
i have found the xbox360 the best console for amiga emulation as it has a bit of power behind it to run a desktop then you can install games under whdload and start them all from the workbench with out swapping disks etc...
awesome thread....them Motorola cpu's were great back in the day...i had the Amiga emulator on my xbox.....project x worked well....the a500 with 2mb ram and a 7mhz cpu.

what do you mean were great back in the day they are still great now!!! the newer coldfire processors now have a complete 68k translation set it is a shame they have not utilised this and made a modern 68k accelerator with some real cpu power.
I've managed to create an Xbox bootable DVD disc for UAEX, a W.I.P. at the moment. But it does boot direct from the disc to the Amiga Emulator I have sold a few WinUAE DVD's, without ROMs, only Public Domain, Freeware etc.. , on online auction sites.
So just wondering is anyone interested in an Xbox UAEX DVD version?
Question: Is it possible to create a DVD that would boot on an Xbox and run on a Windows PC? One DVD for all formats?

i have a mixed media smart xx cd that works on xbox and pc but that soft boots linux not from a file manager on the xbox.
the wiki might answer that question he is cleaver like that
This is a good like to free legal amiga games and apps:
and has a mod player when you are browsing around which is cool:-)
I had an Amiga 500 with the 512MB upgrade in the trapdoor. This machine saw me through my naval career I was a gaming addict.
Weekends stuck in the base made more than comfortable by all the classics, Wings, Cannon Fodder, Lemmings, Gunship 2000,
Superfrog, Darkmere....i could really go on forever. I went online on an Amiga 1200 thanks to the East Kilbride Computer Club,
which was basically a rented room at a primary school which apart from having X-Copy writing to floppies all night had some scene members
that introduced us to BBS and the wonders of going online...I was truly hooked.
For those that haven`t watched From Bedrooms To Billions documentary, you need to! Their latest movie is The Amiga Years and if
its half as good as the first outing its going to be a belter!
