Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive
While you can always rename a file to fit within the FATX limitations, if the XBE isn't patched to look for that new file name, then it won't work. I am quite sure this is exactly what DVD2Xbox is doing by default. It patches the XBE executables so that files load fine on FATX system. I had no prob...

Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive
Why use ISOs when you have a HDD? All games were developed using a HDD so all of them should run off HDD when "FATX patched". Going through this thread I think it is a good idea to try out that program called GXISO. From my expericence, using original Xbox game disks and ripping them with...

Re: 3tb Xbox Info
3tb's are getting cheaper so it wouldn't be a bad idea to throw one in and get the extra free space anyway because sometime in the future there may be support past 2tb in the xbox Yeah...maybe - except how many people are still actively developing BIOS' etc that would make this possible. I'll stick...

Re: 3tb Xbox Info
Hey thanks for the response. I don't have the links on hand (apart from that seller's links). These are just scattered things I read over the past few months while upgrading my own system and trying to learn. I probably will end my investigations after your statements, but if I continue and come acr...

Re: 3tb Xbox Info
I hate to necro such an old thread - but it seems that the people who contributed above have a lot of insight/experience compared to a lot of the conjecture I've seen out there. I haven't seen any proof that anything beyond 2TB is supported. However I have seen one or two references scattered on for...

Re: scanning games delay on every run
It will treat folders as xbe files, ( as the check to see if it's a folder is removed ) so your games will need to be structured like so; F:\Games\halo F:\Games\splinter cell G:\Games\voodoo vince eg..... The game information is in the xbe, you would need to remove myprograms6.db to clear all scann...

Re: scanning games delay on every run
bengalih you manage to test the xbe I sent you? Hey sorry... It didn't show I had any PMs so I hadn't bothered to look until this post. So..yes...it definitely speeds things up. There is still about a 4-5 second delay or so every time going into the games folder. About 1-2 seconds of what appears t...

Re: scanning games delay on every run
While I understand that development time is limited to the whims of those working on the project... I think is a bit strange to believe that by using this type of reference you're going to get someone to do it... Often is not a matter of a "whim," as you so eloquently put it. People have ...

Re: scanning games delay on every run
I'm sure BuZz is aware of this behavior, but even prior to BuZz saving the project, previous devs were not focused on the games side but rather the media. This is still true to this day, and I don't foresee this changing. You can always submit a patch to improve functionality, but I don't guarantee...

Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive
I have a few questions about this topic, so please bear with me: I'm running a X3 hard modded bios with X3 firmware. 1) Is something like this possible with my configuration? Specifically I mean running ISOs directly to avoid issues with long file names or other issues running from FATX on HDD. I kn...

Re: scanning games delay on every run
The workaround currently is to use favourites instead of programs/games Not sure if trainers are loaded ( after configuration in programs/games ) when launched from favourites but it don't see why they wouldn't. I made a script to generate the favourites.xml using your programs db or your games dir...

Re: Hard drive mod assistance - several questions.
Hey guys - just wanted to update you that I did this upgrade and all is well. It took me a couple tries to get a new IDE cable that was workable and I did indeed see a slight performance when ripping games from DVDs. I'm having a little bit of a problem from the exploded clock cap and some trace cor...

[Request] Game info (region, etc). dialog
I apologize if this isn't the place to make requests. I further apologize if this feature exists and I just can't find it. I'm hoping there is the possibility to add a context menu item to games that would bring up a dialog with game info such as the region, size, etc. Both UnleashX and Avalaunch ha...

Re: scanning games
@koyoutou Can you please see my previous post, use the links (click to open in a new tab and then change XBOX to your Xbox's IP address) and then check the results or upload to places like pastebin.com or xbmclogs.com to see. Or enable debug logging and then go into Games, let it run for a while an...

scanning games delay on every run
This is a continuation of the thread here: http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3468 It was left for dead over a year ago with no real follow up from OP, mods, or devs as far as I can see so I would like to revisit this issue. The problem is long delays with the "Scanning G...

Organizing XBOX games into categories/genres/favorites
Is there a way to organize games into some sort of division/hierarchy? It would be nice to be able to have a structure like: Action Horror RPG Shooters etc... Ideally this could be done without having to organize the games on the HDD in a specific way, since a single game might fall into more than o...

Re: Hard drive mod assistance - several questions.
I've used the cheaper adapters - They work, but are slower to load. I was having issues where I was loading in the 25 second range from the unleashX splash screen. In my case, I switched the adapters to GoTeamScotch's recommendation and did notice improvement. Combining this will adding a delay on ...

Re: Hard drive mod assistance - several questions.
Just to confirm and expand on Jonny's reply - my two cents: Awesome guys thanks, I couldn't have asked for better. Just a few follow ups: 1) Regarding the adapter: The one you mentioned is a bit pricey - almost twice as much as some other "name brands" and 5-10x as much as what some have ...

Hard drive mod assistance - several questions.
I have a hard-moded (X3 bios:3294) that I just pulled out of storage. Currently has a Maxtor Diamondmax 250GB PATA drive in it. I'm looking to replace it with a 2TB drive as my research suggests that is the maximum size that can be supported. However, it appears that the 2TB is a FATX limitation, so...
