Re: Trusty 1.4GHZ/733mhz 128mb ram

I don't think its turbulence - in some heat transfer applications it is actually actually designed in. Is there anyway the heatsink has been moved/dislodged at all?

Re: Prepare XBOX hdd on PC

Yeah although not sure about using an ide/sata converter. You'll need your backup of the eeprom if you need to lock the drive to use with a softmod. I've used hdm2.2 which runs of a Linux distro and boots from a usb stick (so you're not using windows). Real nice to use and there was a good tutorial ...

Yeah as servox says, when Xbox scene was active I had seen quite a few mentions of pot adjustment. Not sure if this guide helps: http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/thom ... ometer.htm

Re: Original xbox psu 1.2 to 1.5

That's interesting - does that mean that these mineboa psus, which I've heard have a good reputation, can be wired for a 1.4 as well then? One last question, is there a way to confirm whether it's 240v? I'm sure this one is, theres even a checkbox stating if its 120 or 240v and the right box is tick...

Re: Original xbox psu 1.2 to 1.5

Hi I might have one available but I'll need to double check later if it is compatible for you
EDIT: I've got a picture of it in this online album - not actually sure which version xbox this is wrong. Hopefully someone else can verify, don't do what I did and blow a motherboard up with the wrong psu!

Re: Wanted X3IR and XIR mod

Thanks for the response n64freak and thanks very much for the kind offer clabs. With the cost to send the Xbox on to get soldered up the cost will be too high for me. Still great idea n64, its great to see people continuing this kind of modding service!

I'd be very interested in this but my soldering skills suck - would there be any possibility you could make it a plug and play solution?

But with a custom BIOS it won't care about that and boot straight into xbmc etc? Plus xbmc updates time over internet

Re: controller value

Under £10 for a brand new official s type controller sounds like a good deal to me. Because these types of things hardly come up for sale its hard to gauge 'market value'. Still if its overpriced you haven't lost out on much

Re: First time using modded xecuter console

If you wanted to update the evox and unleash dashboards on your system I think you can do that with the hexen disc - its a fantastic recovery disc and is useful to have handy anyway. Saying that uf youve managed to update xbmc via ftp you cab do the same with the other dashs. As destronger mentions ...

Re: First time using modded xecuter console

If you take a look at the wiki you would need something like a 2gb fat32 USB stick - have you check checked your USB stick you're trying to use is compatible?

Re: Remove fan

I wouldnt run an xbox without a fan - the higher operating temperautre may be tolerable but the fan certainly has an effect. between 20 - 100% fan speed I think the temperature can drop by at least 20 degrees C. Definitely consider upgrading the fan as in this 80mm fan upgrade tutorial. I did that w...

Re: Broken DAB radio lcd screen - any chance of repair?

Thanks very much for the responses guys, I'm suspecting this isnt a standard dotmatrix screen as the symbols on the top of the screen (battery life, signal strength etc.) dont look they're made up of small dots. Xman, I tried doing what you suggested but unfortunately there are no additional part nu...
