Re: 3tb Xbox Info

Oh...some other questions I'm just curious about regarding the drive structure at a technical level. I guess I'm wondering if there was a good reason E: was partition one instead of C: ? And, why/how does the Extended partitions (6 & 7) start at the offset immediately following E: (Partition 1)....

Re: Creating E Drive larger than 4-5GB?

If you’re softmodded or hardmodded custom partitions will work, but like above it’s advised to keep the stock partitions ( especially C if softmodded ) the stock size. But if you never boot into the stock kernel ( ie if softmodded with an older softmod ) by loading a retail game from a cold boot ( ...

Re: 3tb Xbox Info

So you all still use Xbox as media center even when the CPU cannot handle new video codecs and FATX system is so limiting regarding media files generally, or what is the purpose of asking for such a large capacity? Games? They hardly go over 200 GB once I start filtering only those that make sence ...

Re: 3tb Xbox Info

So I just posted a new thread here about E drive size: https://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7353 And then I remembered this thread and thought that someone here might be able to help answer that question. I see in the OP the E drive size is only ~3GB, whereas mine is close to ...

Creating E Drive larger than 4-5GB?

So on my 2TB system my E: drive is partitioned/formatted to the following size: 4,881.63 This seems to be whatever the default was when using xbpt to create the filesystem. I'm curious if it is possible to make this partition larger (and thus take away some available space from F: or G: drive)? The ...

What are the *real* limitations of FATX

Ok - so I must be totally misinterpreting all the data that's out there regarding FATX. Especially the statement that there is a limit of 240 files/folders in any folder and thus you cannot have more than 240 game saves at any time. As far as where I am getting my info...this seems to be the most qu...

Re: X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)

Just found another interesting case - although this time with the iND 5003 BIOS. I've been experimenting loading various BIOS both from TSOP (X3) and from BFM. Right now I was booting with iND-BiOS.5003.67.bfm.bin (so...BFM obviously) from my X3 BIOS and the second disk in DOA Ultimate (so that woul...

Re: X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)

I have never used an x3 bails as they were encrypted for use only on the x3 modchips, so no TSOP flashing for them :( As for x2 again never used them as I need the partition table and 5035 is the only one that supports that. Ind-bios 5003/4 is what I use and have no issues with games loading. Can y...

Re: X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)

You said you tried patching the xbe files, with what? I always use DVD2Xbox to copy/patch my games as this will remove all fatx checks ( PC tools only remove 1 check ) and patch the media flags. Not had a game that won’t boot from the HDD. Hey Rocky5.. I tried dvd2xbox, Qwix, the patch option in Un...

Re: X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)

I found pressing the small white button on gamepad whilst on selected game allows the option to run in PAL, NTSC modes. So do this before actually selecting the game to run, via X. I found a lot of PAL games especially did exactly this when set to Nstc modes ie 720P etc. I own an X3 myself and post...

X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)

So I'm curious if anyone has any experience/knowledge of this issue. I have an X3 chip running X3 3294 BIOS on a 1.4 box . Occasionally I will confront a backup to my HDD that fails to run, just giving a black screen and usually forcing a hard power down. I have often chalked this up to a bad copy a...

Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive

So Rocky I'm trying to do something kind of cool here with your work that you might have not thought of as a use case. I've got it pretty much working, but was interested if there was a more efficient way to do this. Your BFM setup works very well - from a technical level, and if one wanted to store...

Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive

Do not flash’s BFM bios to your system. You point your ind-bios to boot the patched.xbe and then you tell that to boot your dashboard. That’s all you need to do for the patching side. Now you use the same attach.xbe as you did with M8 bios. Like I said ind-bios won’t auto load the attached xbe file...

Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive

Ok - Some more updates on my issues/questions above. As mentioned my biggest concern was speed when doing IGR to get back to dash. I timed this on my native X3 bios and when I issue the IGR combo in game it takes ~14 seconds to get back into the XBMC dash. And by this I mean back to the actual menu ...

Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive

Triggers + Black + Back should reboot to the dashboard. But if you want it to reboot you need to use metoos version of EVTool to edit the LED and IGR type, it’s set to quick instead of compatible. Quick IGR doesn’t restart the Xbox, also you cannot change the key combo for IGR, triggers + black + s...

Re: Loading alternate BIOS to X3 chip.

Ok - so I've answered almost all of my own questions. With an X3 chip it is *extremely* easy to update the BIOS settings. All you have to do is start X3 Config Live (hold down the white button while booting). Then you can go into the BIOS settings and choose to install a BIOS file from your hard dis...

Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive

I just read your post, you can use this ( link ) and edit the xbe paths.asm that’s in the source folder in the my setup folder to point to your dashboard xbe, then use the batch file to build the patcher.xbe. That will give you XISO loading from the HDD on specific hacked bios. This works with M8Pl...

Thanks Rocky5. What are the advantages of the ind bios over the M8?
Also will the IND 5004 bios be ok? It looks like there are some fixes in there regarding button combinations.

Re: Launching an ISO from the Hard Drive

This works with M8Plus ( for M8Plus you need the eject fix or it reboots the Xbox every time press eject :? ) ind-bios 5003, these are the only two that work 100%. Thanks Rocky5. I didn't want to derail this thread too much - but I have some questions on how to load multiple BIOS onto my X3. I've c...

Loading alternate BIOS to X3 chip.

Hey all. I have an X3 chip on my 1.4 Xbox. I'm running the latest X3 BIOS (3294), but would like to load an alternate BIOS so I can launch ISO files as discussed here: https://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=39003#p39003 According to Rocky5 I should use either M8Plus (with Eject Fix) or i...
