Re: quantum redshift will not load
Quantum Redshift is one of the games which has a known problem displaying at 480p on v1.6 Xboxes. So if you are using a v1.6 and a Component cable at 480p then that is almost certainly the problem. There are ways to get around this by using particular loaders with such games but you're lucky because...

Re: XBMC as main dashboard?
Unless you have a whole load of apps with alternative dashboards with skins and emulators + ROMS the only things that takes up huge amounts of space on E:\ ie. GBs, are installed original Xbox games. So if you have any games installed there then that is what you should delete first. But if you have ...

Re: Xbox analogs replacement caps
I quite like the XB360 controller but I've had issues with both my wireless and one wired type. The official rechargeable battery pack simply died on me after a year of use. No recommended technique could get it to charge up again. I'm not a fan of rechargeable batteries but I'd never had this sort ...

Re: Upgrading HDD/Installing Dashboard (Help please)
Good info. ^ I've done my own tests on disc media as I have, I think, at least two examples of every other officially fitted disc drive (Samsung 605B and 605F, Thomson, Hitachi) except the Philips which I only have one. There's some information out there which says there were actually two Philips dr...

Re: Xbox analogs replacement caps
I do not know the full answer to that but I would suspect not. But what I do know, because we had a thread about this on another forum about such matters last year, is that you can replace the whole Controller S analogue stick itself with ones from the original Dualshock PS1 or PS2. They attach firm...

Re: Problem with XBMC and XBOX with mod chip Evox
We don't know if he actually has a F:\ or G:\ drive but what we do know is that a XBMC folder wouldn't have been put on the root of the E:\ drive by AID unless it was installed as a main dash. So either AID did that because the main menu "Dashboard" option was used rather than "Applic...

Re: Problem with XBMC and XBOX with mod chip Evox
It is still odd it only affects XBMC and otherwise your (EvoX) main dash is working correctly. But your description of the path you're using: E:\XBMC makes me suspicious because that is incorrect unless you mis-posted. For XBMC installed as an application it should be either:- E:\Apps\XBMC\default.x...

Re: Problem with XBMC and XBOX with mod chip Evox
If XBMC is not working from Apps/Applications it might not even be there. What I was concerned about is that unless he's checked that XBMC is properly installed using a file manager (or by FTP) the same mistake, if that is what it was, could just be made again. Ideally a screen shot of the C:\ and E...

Re: Problem with XBMC and XBOX with mod chip Evox
How did you install XBMC in Apps? With a AID installed dashboard it should either be in E:\, F:\ or G:\Apps. Without a built in file manager EvoX is not a good choice for your main dash, either UnleashX or XBMC would have been better. However you can use the AID disc again because that does have a f...

Re: Original XBOX softmod
I suggest that you don't use the inject option. Its weird and I don't understand this but what I've found is that when you use "inject" from the context menu the copy progress bar uses green stripes. It is so long that I last used it I can not remember how it behaves exactly but I do remem...

Re: Request: Improving priority for music thumbnails
I know this a very old thread but for various reasons I still use an older version of XBMC as well as the most recent v3.5.3 and I've just come across this same problem with the older version. I hadn't bothered with music album art etc until recently but I thought I'd sync the two versions. I found ...

Re: Original XBOX softmod
When you plug the flash drive into the PC do you get the message about it needing formatting? Of course you should not do that, just cancel and launch Xplorer360.
You do need to click on "Partition 0" to see what is on the drive.

Re: Original XBOX softmod
You might like to try the USB FATX Formatter tool instead (Google). AFAIK the most recent version is v1.3.2. Apparently this sometimes works for formatting flash drives that won't format to FATX on the Xbox and, allegedly, fix some of the other incompatibility problems you can get with them too. Nev...

Re: Unlocking / Locking HDD
Long story short, there isn't a good reliable way to copy files to an Xbox HDD besides FTP. There are FATX file explorers such as xplorer360, but in my experience, xplorer360 chokes or crashes when dragging and dropping hundreds of GBs (hundreds of thousands of files) worth of files into a partitio...

Re: Original XBOX softmod
Are you sure the SC exploit and installer game saves are actually unpacked and installed on the flash drive correctly? This is how it should look:- Xplorer360 With SC PAL Game Saves.png All you should have are the two numbered game save files on the flash drive:- 5553000c (the SC PAL game save) and ...

Re: XBMC Fatal Error: No suitable skin version found
Have you tried installing a test application or something else like that from the AID disc to a temporary folder on the HDD? That should work without any hassle, if it doesn't then there must be something else going on. HeXEn and AID can be installed to the HDD but with HeXEn you do need to find a s...

Re: Unlocking / Locking HDD
Have you ever used Xplorer360 for direct PC to USB HDD or flash drive transfers? Well I have and do it regularly, particularly the latter. I'll admit I do not have any USB v3.0 compatible devices so that might improve things but using USB v2.0 it is VERY slow. Only a few days ago I transferred sligh...

Re: XBMC Fatal Error: No suitable skin version found
Take Rocky5's advice and try to get FTP working but:- Going back to the disc media issue: there would have to be a huge coincidence for two disc drives, used with DVD-R media to have the same problem copying files to the Xbox. You have a chip fitted and you can now boot discs but can't copy from the...

Re: Soft modded PAL Xbox set to NTSC-M
You really don't want to do that. If you use PAL you are dooming yourself to SD (standard definition only). One of the main reasons to softmod a PAL Xbox is to region swap it to NTSC so you can use 480p for most Xbox games and the dash to display at whatever you prefer: 480p, 720p or 1080i. Some gam...

Re: XBMC Fatal Error: No suitable skin version found
Are you actually using CD media? If so that's most likely your problem. When Rocky5 said earlier burn his XBST disc to DVD-R that's exactly what he meant ie. use DVD-R . My own tests show that Hitachi, Philips, Samsung 605F and Thomson all hate CD-R. Only Samsung 605B works with it. Strangely though...
