Re: Stuttering/Buffering video

I setup a Belkin switch at my parents and occasionally they have a similar problem and have to switch it off for a few minutes and then back on then all is good again for another few weeks. To be honest I still haven't worked out if it's the router or the switch that's causing the problems so I get ...

[Video Guide] Creating a video library

This guide will take you through the steps needed to create a nice snazzy looking video library rather than using the standard file mode. If you're storing your media on a network share then store your videos in as little sub-folders as possible. It will considerably decrease the amount of time spen...

[Video Guide] Add Programs, Games & Applications

As the title suggests, this is a short video on how to add content to your "programs" section. This will be especially useful for those that struggle with adding Coinops to XBMC :)

Re: Any MythTV Users ?

I use Hauppauge PCI cards, both the (now long in the tooth) Nova-T and DVB-S2 work well. (When I first got the DVB-S2 card, (before S2 transmissions first started from the Astra constellation, so around 2008 I guess) I had a bit of shenaniganising to compile support into the Linux kernel, but it go...

[Video Guide] Add Music Source & Scan To Library

Here's a little guide on how to scan your music collection into the library.

For the best results when scanning in your music collection use the following structure:
<Artist> - <Album> - Track.mp3 (or whatever format you have it in).

Re: Aye, Aye Raspberry Pi

Results so far... Had a little play with the Raspberry today and so far it look encouraging. First I tried Raspbmc which was an absolute doddle to install on an SD card via Windows, just one click and it's done. I tried a non branded micro SD card that I had in my tablet and also a sandisk 16gb mic...

Re: Any MythTV Users ?

I do need to setup either myth or tvheadend so if anyone can tell me what cheap dvt usb/pci card will work on linux I'll be happy to try it out. I've tried 2x DVT USB dongles and a PCI card and none of them have been compatible :-(

Re: [SKIN] Mosaic (beta)

Is this an update on the last release or are you simply adding the info to the new forum? If it's a new one let me know and I'll add it to XAI. Cheers.

Re: [RELEASE] XBMC NXE Twist 2012 - Alpha v2 Dev Edition

Thanks for your continued hard work on this - it looks amazing and I can't wait to give it a go... just too many projects on the go at the moment unfortunately so I may have to wait for the next release to test it :D

Re: XBMC4XBOX and HD

You are correct, running 1080i kills the FreeMem so it's not something I would recommend. However there was a post on what the optimal settings are if you want to run in 1080i but I'm not sure whether it's been added to the new forum yet or not. If you want to use scripts and plugins then there's a ...

Cool, didn't realise there's another new release, I'll add it to XAI.

@Buzz: Any chance you could PM me when iplayer plugin is updated and I'll get it updated on the XAI repo. To be honest you can have admin rights to the XAI repo if you want and host it on there.

Re: why doesn't my FTP work anymore?

Did you try recovery mode? If that doesn't work try instaaling Evox or unleashX, you'll find them on the HeXEn disc. If that's not an option then try to ftp from another boot disc (although you may find it very slow).

Re: [Release] XAI (Xbox Addon Installer)

+1 I completely agree that we could do with a proper installer which searches to see if there are updates and also installs the dependencies. XAI can search for updates (because it's based on SVN Repo Installer) and Addons4Xbox Installer can install dependencies but neither can do both. I spent 2 ye...

Re: New Arcade/Media Hub Project

So time for a little update... I managed to butcher an old PC and installed a power button and surprisingly everything seems to be working really well. I have a dual monitor setup (the 24" Nvidia 3D ready one and the 37" HDTV in the lounge). XBMC runs sweet via the HDMI cable and I've just...

Re: upgrading from 3.1 stable to 3.2 stable - help

Jan's build is very good, well worth a look. Stick both that and the stable 3.2 on there (just call one XBMC and the other JansXBMC or somthing like that) and see which you prefer - I would imagine there will soon be another release from Jan based on the 3.2. Don't stick your XBMC install on drive F...

Re: Help needed - How to update from very old XBMC

As Buzz says there is no Eden release for Xbox, I think you may have got a little confused there. Mainbranch XBMC decided to drop the Xbox platform a few years ago so the last release by them for Xbox was Camelot. Since those days Buzz and Arnova had been working hard on updating the Xbox builds the...

Re: Coinops Where to Download and how to install??

Cool, I wasn't having a go btw (just in case it looked like that!). I know how hard it is to get your ratio up, my first attempt to do the right thing on a similar website ended in me being banned because I hadn't understood the rules properly :-( To be honest I'd have also probably been banned on U...

Re: Coinops Where to Download and how to install??

They aren't necessarily "ban happy", they just have certain ratio rules you have to abide by which is common for these types of websites. It's very tricky getting a decent ratio but in the long run it means everyone is pulling together and sharing, not just leeching. Have they now opened r...
