Re: why i can't FTP to xbox ?
You use a cross-over when connecting direct from PC to Xbox or Xbox to Xbox, although with most modern PCs it will detect the cable connection type and modify the output channels used accordingly ie. PC to Xbox it should not matter what cable type you use. If you're connecting via a router then stan...

Re: Restoring a Softmod. Rocky5 kit
I didn't know that was possible either.
Very useful feature and another good reason to use Rock5's softmod package.
Q: UDDAE = UberDash Dashboard Audio Exploit, yes?

Re: Restoring a Softmod. Rocky5 kit
Same way as is available to anyone with a retail state machine. With an originally softmodded Xbox it now will not, or should not, boot non-retail discs ie. backups or even Rocky5's Extras disc. However you have the appropriate games saves from Rocky5's package on the Xbox already so the easiest met...

Re: Update softmodded xbox
I thought I was making this clear; if it is a softmod it is not a case of choosing whether to flash the BIOS or not it is that you must not attempt it or you risk bricking the thing entirely. Softmodding and chipping/TSOPing Xboxes are completely different methods of modding a Xbox which is why I ad...

Re: Update softmodded xbox
If it is a softmod you definitely do not want to be flashing the BIOS. That only applies to chipped and TSOPed machines. You need to make sure that it actually is a softmod first because any specific advice about updating the main dash will depend on whether it is a softmod or not. First thing to do...

Re: Does anybody know the name of this skin?
It is the Xbox-Classic skin using the Moonlight theme and skin colour ie. blue font. That's the Programs > Emulators > Wide Icon view. XBMC Xbox-Classic Skin Moonlight Theme.jpg It is a little more squished than it would normally be in my shot simply because I had the TV formatting set up for a 4:3 ...

Re: HW Modded XBox won't run "any" .xbe files
Chipped or TSOP? I think you may be over-complicating the problem. That is, from your description, you can not get XBMC to launch from Apps and a SNES Emulator to launch as, of course, an Emulator. That suggests a basic installation problem rather than anything else more prosaic like a BIOS problem,...

Re: Component Cable, no signal. Help appreciated
If it is a third party cable and particularly if there are Composite or S-Video cabling connections included check the Component cable for any SD/HD mode switch. If present it is often on the 'yoke' where the video signal wires split. Otherwise:- Dashboard resolution settings? The console MUST be se...

Re: Modded Orignial Xbox not recognizing disc
Did you update XBMC, change the skin or anything like that recently? It is not clear from the description exactly what is happening but from the sound of it you had it set up to play disc media automatically and now that is not happening. Could you or someone else accidentally have turned that off? ...

Re: Xbox Dashboard problem (Error 21).
You'll have to get confirmation from the real gurus here about the kernel stuff but I know from my very recent experiments with the older MS stock files which you can still find at some places that they won't work on any Xbox updated to a newer dash/kernel and visa versa. Before softmodding the Xbox...

Re: Xbox Dashboard problem (Error 21).
Are you always trying to access Memory with the flash drive still attached as shown in the YT video? If so try removing the flash drive before booting the Xbox and see if that allows you to access the HDD game save content. I know from my own experience that when a flash drive crashes, as they do, i...

Re: How do I install the latest version of XBMC?
The v572 UnleashX dash is actually what you want. Bizarrely SID and AID or at least all the ones I've used can install different version UnleashX dashes under different menu options. I'd have to check to be sure but think it depends on whether it is a main dash or as a dash installed in Apps. Maybe ...

Re: Xbox Dashboard problem (Error 21).
Odd, a MS dash that clearly boots OK but crash when you access the Memory. Question I'd ask is did you create UDATA/TDATA on the E:\drive? You only mentioned using C:\drive stock files? Not having used XBHDM I would have thought it might do that by default but if it doesn't then that could explain t...

Re: How do I install the latest version of XBMC?
That white screen after trying the SC save again sounds very like the problem I had when I deliberately experimented using a dash updater XBE just to see how difficult it was to fix. It restores the Xbox to retail but when I tried to re-softmod it SC would go to a white screen and then reboot when u...

Re: How do I install the latest version of XBMC?
As said in the last sentence of my first post, try an AID, HeXEn or any other rescue disc with a file manager or gives you FTP access (DVD-R + ImgBurn). Cold boot it and either use the file manager and/or FTP to fix whatever is wrong. As I've said in another thread here today a chipped Xbox without ...

Re: Unable to get past XBOX logo during boot-up
Did you cold boot the AID disc ie. put it in the tray, close it, shutdown then restart? If it isn't cold booting the AID disc try cold booting any original game disc. If that does the same thing then there is some other problem but if it does work then you can be pretty sure the problem is with the ...

Re: How do I install the latest version of XBMC?
You should always have another dash available simply installed as in Apps. UnleashX and or a mirror version of your existing XBMC install for test purposes. But you don't really need that for this purpose. Just download the new XBMC and FTP it to TMP (temporary) folder on the F:\drive. Use XBMC's fi...

Re: Unable to get past XBOX logo during boot-up
If the HDD is unlocked (as it normally will be with a hardmodded machine you can do what you wanted and tried to do if you use an external USB HDD enclosure and Xplorer360. Windows on its own won't see the content of the HDD because it is FATX formatted, that's where Xplorer360 comes in. But TBH usi...

Re: Upgrading HDD/Installing Dashboard (Help please)
If you're installing HeXEn you actually need the proper installed version with the re-written config.xml. From disc everything is using a path to files on the D:\ drive whereas the HeXEn's installed version (HexIns) was re-written to use E:\HexIns. So if you were trying to use the disc version insta...

Re: Upgrading HDD/Installing Dashboard (Help please)
Did you wait long enough for HeXEn to load?
Typically it will take 20 -25 secs after the loading screen.
An AID disc can take twice as long.
