Re: XBMC4XBOX - Closed Captions?
I just educated myself on the differences between subtitles and closed captioning (or at least I hope I did). I found another ticket for closed captioning here: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/56 It says that the status is closed, but I'm not sure if it means that it was implemented or not, although eve...

Re: XBMC4XBOX - Closed Captions?
Are closed captions specifically different from subtitles? Because you can control subtitles from the audio OSD menu during playback. I'm also surprised that you feel like you need captions to fully enjoy region 1 DVDs because your English is WAY better than a vast majority of region 1 people, haha....

Re: Buffering - Slow LAN speed - Half duplex ?
That schematic is exactly what I was looking for. I also asked if you used to run at full duplex in the past (I didn't actually phrase it in the form of a question though so you might have overlooked it). Is the answer yes?

Re: Green LEDs Failed
I was actually the one who originally mentioned trace corrosion. Haha. Glad you got it figured out. I would suggest wiring all of the traces now because it's likely only a matter of time before all of the traces start corroding.

Re: Buffering - Slow LAN speed - Half duplex ?
But since the cache falls back to 11% Are you referring to the stat line that starts with "CPU"? If you are, then that's for CPU usage (as the name should imply, heh), not for how much cache is remaining. You want the CPU usage to be as low as possible, but an upper rate of 100% is normal...

Re: Green LEDs Failed
From what I've read, missing LED colors could be a problem with trace corrosion.

To further elaborate on what xman said, you weren't trying to overwrite XBMC while running XBMC, were you? You always need to run another dashboard when updating any dashboard.

Re: Xbox mobo issue
Even if the traces look fine, I would try the fix anyway because the only cause for the problem that you're describing that I've ever seen is corroded traces. There's a small chance that the problem could be the power/eject board, so you can try disconnecting that and then plugging in the power. If ...

Re: Install XBMC on F: using HeXEn
Based on the wording of his post, it doesn't sound like he personally place it himself anywhere and had HeXEn place it for him, although I've never used HeXEn so I have no idea how much of a choice it gives you in regards to the placement of apps.

dan.h's problem is quite different from yours. You had a non-booting dash, while he has a misflashed TSOP.

Re: Install XBMC on F: using HeXEn
I don't normally deal with softmods, but I'm guessing that your dash must be booting from somewhere like E:\dashboard or something along those lines? You can use a shortcut.xbe (which can be found here ), place it in your dashboard folder with the same name as your current dashboard, and have it poi...

Re: XBMC4Xbox Remote - Android app
The MAC idea sounds great. I never really liked IP-based identification in any program (not specifically this app) since IPs can change, so being able to store the MAC and have the IP automatically update would be awesome.

Re: XBMC4Xbox Remote - Android app
Is there a way to remove stored consoles that I'm not seeing? I didn't initially set up static DHCP for my Xbox when I installed a new router, so I have multiple auto detected IPs for the same Xbox that I would like to delete.

Re: Want A Softmod Without The Horrible Startup Noise?.
Not that I want to discourage thinking outside the box, but I'd have to imagine that anyone with the skills to perform this mod (if it works) would be comfortable with TSOP flashing, haha.

If by version you mean Xbox version, then no, that doesn't matter. As long as you use Samsung chips, then it doesn't matter what version Xbox you take them from.

Yes, you can post external links here. I would have linked you directly but I was replying on my phone so it wasn't convenient for me to do the search. Here's another thread that should help you: http://forums.llamma.com/viewtopic.php?t=12329

Re: Best choice for resurrect a failed XBOX?
Regarding your Xbox spontaneously turning on, it sounds like the motherboard might have corroded traces. If you do have them (search on google), you'll need to solder some thin wires to repair them.

I am not defending his non-compliance, I wish he would comply and get in line the with rules and everyone would be one big happy community. I believe you are correct when you say that we would all benefit from that type of situation and that the final product would be even better. But that is not c...
