Re: XBPartitioner 1.2 alpha source code
Nice IdotsFan, This I can say has done fine for me on many 2TB HDDS. I still always check the cluster size just to make sure using the "EvoX method" because it is just good practice but this version doesn't get it wrong. IdotsFan, would you be fine with me doing a tutorial on exactly how t...

Re: Anyone got access to a CNC machine?
I'd route it out but not MDF. Poisonous shit that stuff is. 90% glue 10% wood dust that swells like crap when it gets wet. Asbo, how about I send you a chunk of tree from the farm. I can mill it nice a square for you and if there's a termite, send it back...LOL Seriously though, have you thought of ...

Re: How to change thermal paste on CPU/GPU Heatsinks
I have never done this to an Xbox. Actually, when I did try many moons ago, I actually broke the plastic clip and that was probably why I never tried it again. What is the proper method to remove that plastic clip without breaking it? I have used tubes of thermal paste on all types of electronic par...

Re: XBMC4XBOX 3.2 Released
Based on some code from XBMC, and some of our own, we now use this SIMD optimised library for decoding and thumbnailing JPEG images. The speed up is very noticeable - with navigating photos feeling at least twice as fast as before. XBMC4XBOX will now also use less memory when displaying and zooming...

Re: Tube Change In An Arcade.
OK, now for the tricky part. You need to pull apart all the sub assemblies that make up a retail T.V.. This varies enormously between the brands, models and age of the T.V.. This particular T.V. is going to be an arse as nothing is small but it is good quality, especially the sound. May as well star...

Tube Change In An Arcade.
Xbox modding to a degree I guess, well it is for me because my boys use these machines for there Xboxes and 360s. Been doing this for years although now days it is putting T.V.s in arcades rather than genuine arcade monitors as I was originally trained to do. A lot cheaper but a tad more difficult u...

Re: Chips for sale?
Requests for Aladdin XT 64 chips boys. Yes the LCD ones. You'll be soldering but you will have LCDs. Hell, I might even do a "Plug And Play" cable set with sockets so then you just "Plug It Together" and then no soldering, once you get your chip on a socket. Need numbers of, I do...

@ Skatulskijean, nice collection on your latest version of "Jan's" but one question, arrrrr where's the porn?. The girly movies sell my machines to the women but it's the Porn pluggins and scripts that get the blokes interested especially the ones that allow downloading onto there hard dr...

Re: rol board and mods
To swap the wires over for large button on off, DVD small button mod I use a thin flat screw driver to bend the little plastic retainers out of the way slightly and then pull on that wire and it will come straight out the front panel to mother board connector. Simply push the new wire back in withou...

Re: Good soldering iron?
Well 6 watt is a baby. My weapon of choice is in the 30- 50 watt temperature controlled range with a 1mm tip in it and just be real quick. In quick I mean with that temperature controlled iron, I solder a whole LCP "DIN" connector in an Xbox board in about 12 seconds and I also do large so...

Re: Good soldering iron?
Heat the iron up and then place it on the part or parts that require soldering. After about a second, feed solder onto that point and remove the iron, done if the solder is shiny. If it isn't, repeat adding a touch more solder. While iron is hot wipe it on a damp cloth to clean.

Boys, if this is all the relevant info for a first time soft modder, how about condensing it into one post with links that a 1st time person can read in one hit and understand easily with Whuf's videos included and sticky the bloody thing so it won't get buried. This procedure get asked so many time...

Note the shielding cut out around the fan as well. I do similar on all Xboxe...
