Re: Is my Xbox fried?

I don't really want to ditch it as it's been modified. It has an Aladdin in it and a 2TB Samsung drive. And nor should you considering that is about the best combo you can have Xbox wise. ;) Certainly my favorite anyway. I'd say your power supply has just shit itself but then again it could be a co...

Like "Show Us Your Home Entertainment Setup" as it was called on the old forum and the one already in the modding section called "Case Mods Showcase"?.

Re: Xbox Componant Cable

I just use a proper component lead set so I can change the leads if necessary something you can't do if you hard wire it. No pin rack, just wires going straight to the board with the link soldered on the board. The link is normally in your connector that plugs in your Xbox by the way or on a switch ...

Re: Softmod help needed

Well Whuf, you know what I'd do, it goes without saying so I'll just give the reasons why. 1- It will allow you to send HDDs over to him in the future upgraded that he can simply plug and play. 2- You can increase the HDD size when you choose simply by plug and play. 3- NO Flubber. This is how I do ...

Re: Xbox Componant Cable

and yeah, that might be easier at this point, but does it allow HD? Well, yes, of coarse it will if you wire it up correctly. You are going to need all 5 RCA sockets, the 3 required for the video and the 2 for the audio unless you want to only have optical sound or coax sound in which case you woul...

Arr, English Olympics weather. A couple of cool strategies you Poms are trying regarding terrorist attacks on the Olympics
1- if it's raining they can't carry anything other than an umbrella and
2- the rain will put there fuses out. Us Aussies didn't think of that.

Re: Microsoft Xbox Key Ring

@ Whufclee- that exact same remote works fine on my Samsung T.V.s and I do have an RCA brand T.V. which I tuned another one of those remotes to work on. Problem was it was controlling the Xbox connected to it as well so yes, it is capable of controlling an Xbox. Basic functions like volume play etc ...

Re: Microsoft Xbox Key Ring

Nice work Buzz, those keyrings look pretty damn sweet. I wonder if xman could modify them so that when you press the button a USB stick pops out? Now that would be an xbox slim mod I'd be interested in, what do you think xman - you could even stick one of your famous LCD clocks on the back  We...

Re: Lost Softmod: Errors 7 & 21

God damm, Would I be wrong in thinking the HDD could be on it's way out?. Word of advise boys, change your stock original HDDs. These things were poor quality when they were made and you've had them for a long time now. Good quality "security" HDDs have a warranty of 7 years operating 24 h...

Re: Jan'sEnglishXBMC4XBOX V2.1

The main menu seems to be very sluggish now, as is the rss feed. Also scrolling through media (from remote) stutters. Anyone else have this? Otherwise, thanks for all the work! Mine did exactly the same when I moved over my userdata. Didn't prior to moving my old userdata. Something in there that d...

@ Skatulskijean, nice collection on your latest version of "Jan's" but one question, arrrrr where's the porn?. The girly movies sell my machines to the women but it's the Porn pluggins and scripts that get the blokes interested especially the ones that allow downloading onto there hard dri...

Nice work Jan,. Seems to be running sweet. :D Haven't adjusted to much yet. Basically just ran NaviX which seems to be running fine. Your startup has your music on G play aye?. Looks like you loaded your xbmc log with the build. ;) Not a problem, defiantly shows you tested it yourself. Anyway, thank...

Re: Chips for sale?

Chips are cheap insurance. Under $10 and some soldering and your away. Forever. Only had one chip bios failure, (DuoX by the way but a lite so only 1 bios), and simply hotswapped the chip and re-flashed it so I have never had a modchip die as such. Seeing as a modchip dropped it's bios, I'd imagine ...

Re: Keeping "user data" when updating build

Keep your whole userdata if your build isn't real old but even if it is, you can still keep your thumbnails etc. Just open up your userdata and look through it and most of it can actually be saved even on old builds. If you leave your old build as your booting build and "copy" portions of ...

Re: Picked up another Halo SE today.

Never seen and ICE chip. What sized bios does it take. Are you real worried about the LED color dictated by the bios when as soon as XBMC starts, it takes over the LED color anyway unless of coarse you can have it changing as I discussed with you once before but cannot do with an M8 bios. ;)

Clock module install- http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a461/autosteve/XBMC%20FORUM/001-2.jpg It's all going in here. Note the 6 screw mounts, 2 between the button holes and 4 around the display hole. These are all the original screw mounts from the clock. http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a461/...
