Why not just install xbmc as dash , then you add it as a source under Games from within Xbmc . That being said you should be able to launch it from within Unleash x I believe , when you see coinops under file manager can you see a file that ends in .xbe , that's the one that launches it . Does the coinops allow you to look at files on the Xbox ? If it does , you will find the dash in there , if not make up an installer disc like Rocky's or HeXen , Slayers etc , that will help you change dashboard to boot to .

Great find the best I found was an old seperates hi fi and speakers in a house move
Can you see what size HDD is in there ?
Look under system in xbmc , then after that , do you have a laptop or pc available ? This is so you can ftp to the Xbox .

The lazy way would be to use one of the installer / tool discs to do the default .xbe for you , I'm not sure if its on HeXen or Slayers , someone else might have a better memory than me :-) You will need to burn a disc , they are pretty handy to have to hand anyway if you are starting to tinker agai...
