Re: Softmod Over An Xbox with Xecuter 2.3B Lite Installed?

Well to do that you really need a close up picture of MrMajst3r's switch board , (the back and front of it), along with a manual for that chip, ( you'll get that on the net) and then you should be right to see how the board is actually wired up.

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread

The games you are having trouble with, have you tried using DVD2Xbox to load them to the 2TB instead of FTPing them in?. Seeing as you are running an Xecuter 3 chip, it may be good to give an M8 bios. You can load it in another bios position so as to leave your 1MB x2.5032.bin BIOS intact. I don't t...

Re: xbox power supply rev 1.0

You can substitute the wire wound for a metal oxide or ceramic resistor if you can't find a wirewound. Both will handle the heat this part obviously has to endure. Here is the power supply.... http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a461/autosteve/20-04-2016%20Xbox/002.jpg The resistor is in the middle ...

Re: Can tsopped xbox softmod other Xbox drive?

"Once an Xbox is tsop flashed can it read a drive from another Xbox?" You can read it providing it isn't locked to the machine it come from. "For instance can I soft mod a different Xbox drive using the tsopped board?" Well you can create a Xbox drive with a softmod installed on ...

Re: Music player tweak/ slideshow bug ?

Based on what you said, here's what I did to find the solution : entered music player mode (by pressing the X button), pushed the white button once to have the music player bottom bar always present, exited the music player mode, waited for the slideshow screensaver to start and voilà, the music pl...

Re: Softmod Over An Xbox with Xecuter 2.3B Lite Installed?

I've took chips out of Xboxes only when they are malfunctioning and swapped to a softmod but the chip you have in there already will make things much easier than that . If you did want to ditch the chip , I am sure TSOP would be the way forward for you rather than softmod . What do other members th...

Re: xbox power supply rev 1.0

R10 is a 68k 5 watt wire wound resistor. You may be lucky and the power supply will work fine once it is replaced, however there is a chance it blew because something further down the circuit drew to much power and caused it to fail. You have nothing to loose really. The resistor should cost under $...

Re: Softmod Over An Xbox with Xecuter 2.3B Lite Installed?

I'm pretty sure that modchip will still work without that bank selector board, it will just revert back to the modchip's default settings. Are you sure the modchip is actually turning on?. There should be an LED that lights on the board to indicate this. Try turning the machine on by using the other...

Re: Case Mods Showcase

Nice looking machine. I love any other colour scheme other than stock black. My problem is I never know when to stop. A machine I started a couple of months ago still isn't finished because what started out as just a paint job in my son's football club's colours has now ballooned out into a full blo...

Re: Music player tweak/ slideshow bug ?

Greetings everyone! First thing, my screensaver is set to slideshow which displays just fine! The thing is when some music is playing at the same time, at times a nifty lil' player thumbnail shows up in the bottom left hand corner of the screen with information as to what the music playing is and a...

Re: Removing Disc Drive Tray Face Plate

Turn the DVDrive upside down with the DVD tray in the closed position. Grab the face plate in your left hand with your thumb facing up and 1st finger under it and hold the DVDdrive in your right hand. Now flex the face plate down and you will see a gap appear between the face plate and the drive. Yo...

I just had a look at your Retro PI forum BuZzard. Nice work. Sweet looking machine Debra94. Is that a transfer or air brush?. What exactly is the problem with your two "dead" machines?. Xboxes are not real hard to fix and suffer from well known issues. They may be recoverable.

Very observant of you. I have had that very same issue on two of those builds only I put it down to the machines being a 1 or 2TB sata HDDs and therefore taking longer and displaying the busy notification. You somewhat have confirmed my thoughts as to what caused it on my machines may well have been...

Re: Want to fill my 2TB drive with XBOX games - which ones?

can you upload all the games ? There are definitely a few genuine games that I could never get to upload from my PC back to the Xbox and get them to run correctly or not run at all. For this I would use DVD2Xbox on the Xbox itself and let it load the game to the HDD direct. It seems as some of the ...
