Re: How do I change the wallpaper?
Just as a side note, you can select a skin like confluence, ( not the lite version) or PMIIIHD and both these skins allow a folder of multiple pictures to use as your background rather than just one image. To give an example with PMIIIHD go to Skins/settings and you will find a setting backgrounds. ...

Re: Removing rust from OG XB metal shielding
I just lightly sand the rust, it is only surface rust after all, and any pits left in the metal will only help giving the paint something to bind to anyway. Once you have got rid of most of the rust, blow it off, give it a quick clean with alcohol. Let it dry and as always when painting with spray p...

Re: Removing rust from OG XB metal shielding
I just paint them now. Not only does it stop the rust, it actually looks a lot better I think. I actually don't see this often. Do you have and photos where you've painted the cage? Might be something to do with my crystal xbox. Original upper RFI shield in rusty condition...... http://i1038.photob...

Re: Removing rust from OG XB metal shielding
I just paint them now. Not only does it stop the rust, it actually looks a lot better I think. All you need to do on the base is scrap off the paint from the tabs that touch the PC board around the mount holes to maintain the earth connections. I usually just use white metal paint because it is pret...

Re: Cheap And Easy Blue Tooth Audio.
Yep, just letting you and others know you don't need a bluetooth receiver to get it to work, any receiver that has sound inputs, preferably 3.5mm but any inputs will do, you will just need a suitable adapter to get the input into your receiver. I use the 3.5mm cable supplied with the "RX" ...

Re: Cheap And Easy Blue Tooth Audio.
Yep, looks exactly the same. It has the all important "TX" meaning transmitter on it. They also make one that looks the same that has "RX" on it meaning receiver. You can use the "RX" device on sound systems that don't have bluetooth and they work fine as well as a rece...

Re: Cheap And Easy Blue Tooth Audio.
That is the same as one of the ones I use. It actually works extremely well. You can get your USB 5vDC from inside the Xbox and yes, it does have a pair button. Once the unit has been paired it will auto pair to that receiver every time you power both units up. If you mount the transmitter on the ba...

Re: Fair cost for xbox consoles
I have not paid more than $30 for a 2nd hand stock Xbox for many years myself irrespective of colour but in saying that the place I got my last lot of faulty Xboxes sells working stock black machines for $60, green and crystals for $120. These come with controllers and stock cables and the disc play...

Re: Xbox AC power interference
You could try using another power point circuit although I suspect you will be getting spiking going right through the whole house wiring. The xbox power supply has a filter designed to suppress such spikes but nothing is perfect. You could use an isolation transformer but either way, the problem is...

Take the time to use a hairdryer on the seal labels being careful not to discolor them and carefully removing them and no one will ever to be able to tell you have been inside. Now the choice is, do you want it for yourself or are you just going to on sell it and make a profit by your restoration?. ...

Re: Component + TOSLINK to HDMI
Would be cool to get an all in one solution but take it from me...HDMI is one of the best mods on it's own. Well worth the effort. Just simple things like being able to have the machine as far as you want, within reason, away from the TV. The fact it plugs into any modern TV and it also just looks a...

Re: Xbox 2001 Launch Team Edition
I say rip it apart and make it useful. I would use what you paid for it as a guide as to how much of a collector's item it actually is. The thing with rare Xboxes is there is nothing real special about them. That version you have looks nothing more than a jewel change. Now you compare that machine w...

Been a while since I put something up on this post. I haven't really had a great deal to put up of much interest really but I went down a couple of weeks ago with a mate to start on the bridge to go over the creek gorge but unfortunately it rained and it rained hard for the whole 3 days we were ther...

Cool, sounds like you have it sorted. I think the best advice I can give regarding 2TB dual drives is you will always end up with 927GB free on each. Any variation to this means you have cluster fuked....

Re: Modchip Install Help
I tried grounding BT & d0 without success. Ground the BT to the modchip's ground and just check the wire you are using as ground is actually ground. Of coarse the DO needs to be attached to the mother board as well. You should be seeing an LED lighting on the Aladdin if it actually working by t...

Re: [XBMC 3.5.3] Problems with SMB mass transfer
I'd simply put in a version of XBMC that is FTPing quickly, use it for FTPing and once done go back to 3.5.3 for every other task. You are correct, some XBMC versions are fast while others are slow.
