What is not clear in your post is the fact that you say your Xbox now boots straight to the IND-BIOS splash screen.
Do we have to deduce that when it was working, you saw the flubber animation and now you don't?

Re: How to remove "evo x" logo on boot?
Xbox 1.6 don't have much choice of BIOS. EvoX M8+ and X2 5035 are the two retail hacked BIOSes available. Note, on a v1.6 you'll need the M8+ 16 verison of the Evox BIOS. If you want fast start-up then you'll need to stick with M8+16 and hand-modify it using EVTool (search the forum) to remove the ...

Re: How to remove "evo x" logo on boot?
http://dl.console.se/download/Xbox/chip/Xenium/Xenium%20ICE/Spiceguidev8.pdf You need to access Xenium OS and flash a bank from there. I read Xenium OS 1.0 boots into OS mode by holding the white button on boot while OS 2.0 boots into OS when powering console from the eject button. Xbox 1.6 don't h...

Re: How to remove "evo x" logo on boot?
There are software ways to identify the flash chip from which your BIOS was loaded. raincoat and probably a custom version of EvolutionX Dashboard with a shitload of chip ID definition in its config.ini file might help you out (hexen's disk has one I think). This is all neat but it would be easier f...

Re: Need help identifying this modchip
Thanks guys! Having it always boot into the mod chip without having to hold the power button definitely interests me as I have no reason to boot the system without the modchip enabled. Would I lose the flash protect options if I do that? Aladdin XT Modes: Off - Tap the power button and the Xbox sta...

Re: Modchip advice, info and possible sale
It's a decent chip, it can be used on every Xbox revision but better reflash at least one bank to FlashBIOS if it were to be installed in a 1.0-1.5 Xbox. 1MB flash split in two 512KB bank. Front panel switch to control chip and get HDD/LAN activity. Xecuter quality. No onboard OS but is it really a ...

Re: Modchip advice, info and possible sale
1.6 Xbox need to have their LPC port rebuilt. Not all the necessary signals are routed. Follow the Xecuter 3 installation tutorial, it's exactly the same procedure as for your chip, which is an Xecuter 2.6 (non-CE by the looks of the altenative +5V wire). Just stop before the front panel switch inst...

Re: Need help identifying this modchip
Yep, Aladdin XT modchip. Standard stuff. If you're not afraid of the soldering iron you can change its boot behavior to always boot into modchip mode: http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=22&sid=e4108b3c00c8a8af6ec629cc016c64ef#p112 I usually ground BT because there's no Xb...

You can get YPbPr to HDMI converter boxes with COAX and/or TOSLINK audio in for fairly cheap. I found one on ebay under 30$.

Why don't you send a message to the eBay seller who's selling them in packs of 50 and ask him to create a special auction for only 10 pieces. That's what I did a couple of months back.

Re: Service code 06. Everyone LOVES this error. Gahhhh!
Hmm, I almost fully understand the concept. So, you mean a hotswap would be for say, a forced error by disconnecting the IDE DVD cable -- unlocks -- and then what ever else like ... building, exploring, or locking (assuming you have the correct eeprom. Obviously I have no real eeprom backup so this...

Re: Service code 06. Everyone LOVES this error. Gahhhh!
I compared the serial number on the bottom sticker of the XBOX to the backup TXT file which was created FROM the eeprom.bin file that I attempted to use. I guess this is why it didn't work. What are you saying here? The serial in the eeprom TXT file doesn't match the serial on your Xbox's case? BUT...

Re: Service code 06. Everyone LOVES this error. Gahhhh!
You have really hit the nail on the head, I think. So you're saying the only way to unlock the current hdd is to obtain the eeprom bin file via an eeprom reader or find the backup file if I can find it, right? Also, what about if I have another HDD lying around the house.. Is this any good? Or am I...

Re: Service code 06. Everyone LOVES this error. Gahhhh!
Hello, What I can basically understand of your post is that you have a Softmodded Xbox with a locked HDD inside. The locked HDD cannot currently be unlocked by the Xbox and returns an error code 06. Basically, the content of the eeprom chip on your Xbox motherboard does not contain the proper "...

Re: question about more cooling
80mm fan combined with thermal paste replacement offers good performance altough you need to physically mod the case to fit the 80mm fan. My Xbox sits at 42°C-43°C under heavy system load using good thermal paste and a generic 80mm fan. Maybe temps could be better if you use a high performance 80mm ...

Re: X-Ecuter modchip?
Hello, I would leave the modchip soldered in place if you don't have a hot air rework station. You have more chance of damaging traces trying to remove it with a soldering iron and desolder braid. Anyway if you want to boot the Xbox from the TSOP from now on, all you need to do is desolder the D0 wi...

Re: X-Ecuter modchip?
It's weird a modchip would come with a BIOS that doesn't light up the front LED by default without any way to change this. I would also suggest setting up PBL or remove the wire that ties the D0 to GND and flash your onboard TSOP. But the second solution requires soldering. You'd have to install a s...

Re: X-Ecuter modchip?
Well it's not a cheapmod per definition since there is a CPLD controller onboard to emulate LFRAME logic. It's still serves the basic purpose of loading a hacked bios through the LPC port. My guess is that this particular modchip only holds 256KB BIOS (common 32 pins TSOP chips cannot hold 1MB of da...

Re: Evolution X To UnleashX
Of course that's correct if your BIOS has E:\evoxdash.xbe or C:\evoxdash.xbe in its boot sequence.
But it for some reason OP's BIOS, or softmod, doesn't take any of those 2 paths into account, OP will still boot his Xbox to EvoX and he'll be one sad fellow...

Re: Evolution X To UnleashX
Well, on the Xbox, booting to a dashboard involves the BIOS launching an executable in a pre-determined path. This path is statically coded in the bios itself and so normally you can only change it by flashing your BIOS (unless you have a live-configurable BIOS that takes it's configuration from a f...
