Re: MythTV Support?

I'm a Mythtv user.

The myth protocol no longer works for me on the X80X either, but the family happily watch recordings simply via samba share from our MythTV server.

You've got a v1.4 with a Winbond TSOP.

If you can't get the modchip to work, disable/remove it and flash the TSOP instead.

Re: [SOLVED] iPlayer Broken (by BBC (again))

Update: I found the solution to the low resolution issue. It appears that the "autoplay" option is now enabled by default in settings.xml. This plays a low resolution stream by default, and prevents access to the list of various bitrate streams from which the user can choose. Setting the a...

Re: [SOLVED] iPlayer Broken (by BBC (again))

I recently updated to version 0.2.8 ( http://xty.me/xunitytalk/addons/plugin.video.bbciplayer/ latest at time of writing). Although I haven't used it for a while, it doesn't seem to work as it used to. After selecting the telly programme/episode of choice, there's no further choice of sources/resolu...

Yes, why not simply use DSL (without the 'X' patches) on the laptop? http://damnsmalllinux.org/

Re: Ideas for modern-day applications of XBMC4XBOX?

It looks based on this http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/wiki/XBMC_Features_and_Supported_Formats#Xbox_supported_video_formats_and_resolutions that xvid is the way to go for transcoding videos, at 720x576. Do you (or anyone else) know if this be the best codec and resolution for encoding videos specifica...

Correct.
Or you could buy an eeprom reader and build a new hard disc using XBOXHDM if you don't want to use a modchip.

Re: Need help upgrading to 1TB SATA HDD

My Xbox is from 2004, so I am assuming it is a 1.6. Not necessarily. The switch from v1.4/5 to v1.6 was during April 2004. I got my Xbox in October or the very beginning of November since I bought it for Halo 2, which released November 9. ...none of which is of any relevance. It's the date of manuf...

Re: Picade @ Arcade cabinet Kit for your raspberry pi

I would recommend RetroPie but then my opinion is somewhat biased since I am contributing to that project. (It can be run/installed on raspbian, or a ready made image is available with it pre-installed). Slight change of subject... We got our youngest a Piper kit: http://playpiper.com/ It's also a ...
