Re: Winbond using HeXeN
I had that issue before i think it was because the cd was no good. I have been recently using Xblast OS to flash windbond chips works well just put a bios file in c:\bios\ and run the xbe. So, if I just load the bios.bin c:\bios\ and run Gentoox loader it should find it? How can I check the bios is...

Re: Winbond using HeXEn
From the dvd rom. I didn't use hexen for the softmod, could that be the reason?spicemuseum wrote:Are you running HeXEn from insertable media (a CD/DVD) or from the hard disc drive?

Re: Winbond using HeXeN
There is no problem with flashing Winbond from HeXen. You must do something wrong. It looks for the bios.bin but it is not putting it in the C partion, it is putting it in E/Hexen . If I move the bios.bin from Hexen in the E partion, do I need to put it in the C/root or the C/Bios folder? :( What o...

Winbond using HeXeN
Hi, trying to use hexen disk to flash winbond tsop, hexen keeps putting bios.bin in E/Hexen instead of C/Bios. Anybody else have this issue?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi Guy & Gals, has anyone done the lcd mod using an Aladdin chip If so is there a guide for it, or is it similar to other lcd installations using other chips

Re: i Was Running Out Of Xboxes So i Bought Some.
I've only done a few but I thought you need the linux game save in place for the softmod to work. I've not tried going from hard to soft to tsopxman wrote:Hardmod using Slayer's and softmod using HeXEn and then when I get to it, flash TSOP with Slayer's because I use those bioses it has.

So are doing a softmod or hardmod install from hexen?xman wrote:I don't have one of the the required game discs to do a softmod directly. Meaning I need to install a modchip to allow a softmod install disc to load., softmod the machine, boot from the softmod to flash the TSOP.

Re: i Was Running Out Of Xboxes So i Bought Some.
I must be doing something wrong doing TSOPs. I am putting in pin headers to run a modchip, attaching the D0 wire and set the chip to auto boot. That is all working correctly. I am getting a machine that will boot the install disc. I install the softmod using the HeXEn disc that appears to load and ...

Re: Fault finding a FRAG
Right now I'm really confused. Made up my eeprom reader and wasn't 100% sure it was working properly with the usb to 9 pin serial connector, so I opened up my 1.6 and couldn't get it to read. Then read that 1.6s are a bit trickier to read and I needed to hook it up to the TV and connect after the fl...

Re: Fault finding a FRAG
Okay, so I ended up making an eeprom reader just because... Not sure it liked being connected to the computer via a usb to 9 pin serial connector. But after a few tries I managed to lift the info. The serial number matched the box, the only number I was unsure of was 'DVD kit zone 00'. So does this ...

Re: Fault finding a FRAG
What Rocky says is probably correct. Your next challenge is to replace the EEPROM data. You're highly likely to need an EEPROM reader/writer and a copy of Ponyprog - and a serial port on a PC. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140521532676 http://www.lancos.com/prog.html http://www.lcdparts.net/Images/DB/S...

Re: Fault finding a FRAG
Oh wow, that poor case! Considering the state of it I'd be inclined to test the power supply, they usually seem to survive most things but you should probably rule it out. The fan kicks in and I did manage to get the dvd rom to eject but only the once, but you can hear it turn. So I think it'...

Re: Fault finding a FRAG
What is the led error code? ie, flashes Green for 1/2 second 3 times, restarts & solid Green. The above code is a bad eeprom flash, ie, it's corrupt or the wrong eeprom was flashed to the Xbox. ( you will get no video or audio with the above issues ) flashes Green for 1/2 second 3 times, restar...

Re: Fault finding a FRAG
Well I have been having a read on the internet and I think the problem may be the 2 mosfets in the picture above, the problems are you need to get them off the board to test them and it would cost more to replace them than to get another box
