The question I'd ask is what BIOS is being used and whether the HDD has been properly formatted and a dash installed?
As XC-3730C suggests: cold boot a HeXEn disc (DVD-R burned with ImgBurn at default settings) and that should take care of the latter and allow you to do the former as well.

Frosty VGA Boot CD - never heard of that, I'd like to know more.

Re: ConfigMagic GTS Mod
Oh I see, I thought there would be a good explanation. What I did when I replaced the font and renamed it in the original ConfigMagic and GTS version is use a harvested Arial.xpr font from my XPR font archive. Those come from old skins/SID/AID/MS dash/other installers etc I've collected over the yea...

Re: ConfigMagic GTS Mod
Tried it out last night. Excellent work, particularly the Xbox Softmodding Tool set family look you've given to it. But I have to ask this: why did you stick with the, for me, ugly Gunplay font? You changed the three font sizes to Font_1.xpr, Font_2.xpr and Font_3.xpr but not the actual font itself....

Thanks.
Being able to customise the ConfigMagic skin more is a very welcome feature. I look forward to try trying it.

Re: ConfigMagic GTS Mod
Thanks but that sounds like way too much hassle for my taste. I can live with ConfigMagic's GUI not being quite as good as it could be. However I'm not risking messing around with an eeprom update just to be able to improve the appearance of an app I might only use a handful of times on any particul...

Re: ConfigMagic GTS Mod
Thanks for the reply. The CRC (Cyclical Redundancy Check - had to look that up): not really understanding but I'll happily take your word on that being the problem. Did you mean v1.6 ConfigMagic rather than the v1.6 Xbox which is what it reads like to me? I think that must be what you meant as I tri...

Re: [Tutorial] How To Install Any Grand Theft Auto 5 Mod Menu (Gta 5 Mods)
I think the OP must have misunderstood "Xbox" and assumed it also included XB360 and XBOne matters. It is a pretty common mistake as ever since the XB360 arrived and later the XBOne both are often simply called "the Xbox" by less precise posters in forums and generally. It is a g...

Re: ConfigMagic GTS Mod
This is good work and I appreciate the effort that has gone into this because for years I've thought the ConfigMagic GUI was ugly and in some cases unhelpfully unclear. But I have some questions and comments. What I was surprised by most by is that the Gunplay.xpr font set was replaced not by a new ...

Re: Help with xbox xecuter 2 mod crash. How can I put it stock ?
I can't think why you'd want the stock dash as it rather defeats most of the point of having a chip so I guess that the only reason you want to do that is to reset the console to fix whatever you think is wrong with the the existing modding or formatting. Wouldn't it be simpler, if there is nothing ...

Re: Swapping HDD from softmodded Xbox to mod chipped Xbox
I'm pretty sure that is all you need to do to: unlock it. I'm being cautious because I don't know if the BIOS mentioned will actually boot from a a HDD set up as a softmod. I suspect it will but you need confirmation to be certain. There would be no harm in trying as you can always relock it to the ...

Re: Don't know how my modded xbox work
The Xbox uses ATA/IDE HDDs so if the 250GB HDD is SATA you'll need an adapter. There is a thread here giving a lot of information about suitable models. But the first thing you should do is update what is undoubtedly a very old installation* (read Rocky5's latest post). The last AID version was v4.5...

Re: Don't know how my modded xbox work
Whole thing sounds dodgy to me. If the seller was being 100% legal he would have had to supply the original games' discs not backup copies. But why did he go to the expense and time doing that if the Xbox is modded. Maybe the Xbox is still fitted with the original 8 -10GB HDD. But for not much more ...

Re: Using HDAT2 to unlock an Xbox hard disc
How was the 500GB HDD locked ie. was it used in another Xbox or is it 'virgin' and locked by something else? Do you mean you have the eeprom that locked that HDD? You say "I am trying to upgrade a(n) Original Xbox HD with this one" does that mean that original Xbox is still in retail state...

There is nothing pretentious in what I've said. It is stating hard facts and, as I've said before, I'm not getting at you personally. I'm not petty like that, I've been nothing but courteous and respectful of your intentions and the tutorial. But it just isn't the recommended way of using Chimp and ...

Re: How to Use Chimp (Updated)
Rocky5, a regular and respected contributor here, has been updating Chimp261812 over the last year to make it even simpler to use. Installed as an app it boots automatically now not even needing the linuxboot.cfg copied to E (it uses a config.cfg). It will partition all size HDDs supported by the Xb...

Re: Composite cable for the Xbox, need new ones
Nope, RGB SCART is SD only ie. 480i/60Hz or 576i/50Hz. It'll give you the best SD picture quality you'll get with the Xbox but only SD nonetheless. If you're serious about PQ then a Component (YPrPb) cable is the only way to go - 480p beats 480i/576i every time. There's actually no reason why RGB SC...

Re: help me for setting
It depends on what skin you have used, it might help if you know. There are questionable GUIs in some of the older skins that do make navigating back to the skin change location more of an adventure than it should be. But in general: look in the main menu for the Settings tab/button and click on tha...
