Re: why doesn't my FTP work anymore?
Personally I find Filezilla more reliable than FlashFXP (and it's free). Have you tried in recovery mode? Just hold down the white and yellow buttons on the gamepad when switching on the xbox. If that doesn't work give Filezilla a go - it's pretty simple to use, in fact it's not that different from ...

Re: Xbox 2TB Drive Help
So presumably you've used xbpartitioner 1.0 to format it to 32k clusters and then used v1.1 to convert it to 64k clusters? So long as you have actually done that it sounds like you're all ready to go and start filling it up. Hmmm... I remember Heimdall telling me the best way to check but I can't re...

Sounds very interesting mate, if you could send me a copy of that it would be much appreciated.
I also always re-do the softmod with HeXEn.

Might sound stupid but have you checked to see if you've got enough room on the xbmc partition for more entries?
I've not had chance to test this new build yet but I'll try and give it a go tomorrow with a large library.

Re: First time Xbox Softmod for xbmc - Newbie
Yep you'll love Coinops4 but will definately need to upgrade your HDD - get the softmod done and then you can worry about upgrading the HDD at a later date. If you want to take a look on ebay in the meantime for a larger HDD it might be a good idea. I would suggest a minimum 250GB PATA (the old IDE ...

Re: Is my Xbox fried?
Where in the world are you Evan? I have quite a few xboxes here that I could take a look at and see if I have any v1.2/1.3's. I'm in UK (Basildon, Essex) so if you're in UK it shouldn't cost too much to post.

Re: Softmod help needed
@whufclee It won't work. Switch off xbox and larger hdd locks itself again at the loss of power. New hdd will wake up to error 5. Hotswapping only temporarily unlocks the old hdd and doesn't have the magic capability to lock a new hdd. That's why the lxhdm routine in HeXEn has to be scripted and ha...

Re: Lost Softmod: Errors 7 & 21
Like GhostlyGamer suggests you probably need to switch off autodetection. If that's not an option in your bios (I've had a couple of PCs where it's not an option) then don't plug the IDE cable into the HDD until you see the XboxHDM menu. Once you see that you have to be quick! Quickly slot the IDE C...

Re: First time Xbox Softmod for xbmc - Newbie
Best bet is to follow my video guide, it shows how to do a softmod using HeXEn (definately the safest and best softmod in my opinion). I still need to post it up on this forum but you can check it out at xbmchub.com - there are 2 parts... Part 1 Part 2 You may need to sign up to view those links, we...

Re: Is my Xbox fried?
Pretty sure there are different power supplies for different models so it would probably just be easier to buy a new xbox. Have you tried a different power cord? Any power cord with the figure of 8 connection will do the job.

Ok that's good, I wasn't sure you had the latest one as your post was at 11:55am and my XBMC Eden didn't update the Subtitles addon until later that evening

Re: Aye, Aye Raspberry Pi
Cheers mate, well I now have a list of working ones http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#SD_cards What I really want is a benchmark table of SD Cards that have the best random read/write speeds. I want to use a fast card so when I'm debugging I can at least rule out the SD Card if it's sluggish...

Re: Request to adapt to XBOX: XBMC Subtitles
Just a heads up, my XBMC Eden automatically updated to the latest version of XBMC Subtitles yesterday so there must be a new one out. Might be worth trying, you'll find it on the offiial XBMC Repo - don't know if addons4xbox installer is still working or not but that would install it. If it works le...

Re: Softmod help needed
Thanks mate, I did consider that myself but I don't think I have any spare working ones kicking around. Well I suppose it will only take 5 minutes to take one out of my working xboxes, I'll give it a go - cheers that's a much safer option than the hotswap.

Re: Have you a request for addons or scripts for xbmc4xbox ?
Also, you can get the latest "working on xbox" ones via XXXAI. I'll have to do another guide on how to install that plugin. Basically you just enable adult content on Navi-X and then you'll find it in the adult section of my playlist.

Try doing a fresh install, I don't think the old userdata is compatible with the latest nightly builds.

Softmod help needed
Ok guys/Heimdall I went round a mates house to sort out his botched softmod but it's a problem I've not encountered before. I think I already know the best solution is going to be a hotswap but thought I'd check here first to see if any of you know of an easier fix. When I switch the xbox on I just ...

The old girl’s still got plenty to give
I know this is an old post of mine but I've been requested to post it up again. This time there's an added bonus of the xbox promo video I knocked up last year attached to the bottom. With hardware that’s now 10 years old you’d be forgiven for thinking the xbox classic’s time is up, however the old ...
