Most of my problems come from faulty DVD drives these days, seems the phillips ones cause box's to lock up and thompsons arn't much better.

I found when building my PC cased xbox that if you cut the entire base that the xbox mobo and psu sits in away from the sides then you can bolt the whole mobo and psu to the PC case neatly and without any worry of any shorts.

I got round that problem by putting a bridge wire where the ribbon cable was that then tricked it into reacting as if it were closed, not at home at the moment otherwise i would say which pins at board type i used.
