Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
I have 6 different Xboxes all with Agestar STI-2, DuoX2 (Xecuter) and SATA SSD Kingston V300. They all boot exactly the same and yes, different DVD drives, different Xbox versions. Some DVD drives are even not reading at all but boot into Evolution X is absolutely flawless.

Re: how read original Xbox memory card on PC
But it is not recognized by Windows as a "storage" device. So how am I supposed to read it in a program? It is not seen in explorer at all.

how read original Xbox memory card on PC
Yesterday I plugged my controller S to my Windows 10 32 bit laptop using Speedlink USB adapter. The gamepad is working great - I use XBCD drivers. But I could not read the memory card inserted in the controller. It is reported by Windows as an unknown device (pretty much the same address ID whatever...

leaking caps - should I be worried?
A while ago when changing the HDDs I discovered that my green Xbox dated 2003-02-20 had some capacitors covered with nasty liquid. I simply cleaned them with a piece of cloth, nothing else. Xbox works fine. But still should I consider having them replaced by someone who know what and how? Any real d...

Well, I have DuoX2 in my Xboxes and this new chip PCB looks so huge... or is it just confusion?

Re: Open source Xbox Live project (update Jan 8 2017)
I don't know but is this really worth it? Vast majority of multiplayer games support System Link (unlike those modern ones today) and can be linked together using that... Adding system link capability to Xbox One games would make much more sence...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
A slight update to my experience with Agestar STI-2 SATA/IDE adaptor. This is an excellent piece of hardware and I succesfully run it on several Xboxes coupled with Kingston V300 120 GB SSDs, with DUOX2 and Xecuter BIOS. The biggest plus to this particular adapter is that there is hardly any delay d...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
As for working games from HDD all I can say is that you should be using software designed to copy the Xbox games, not just a general file commander. I am personally using either DVD2Xbox to copy games from DVDs to HDD or Xiso Manager to extract the games from downloaded DVD images, and then FTP them...

Re: Original XBOX online player community! Kai
Personally I am the big fan of GTA Vice City. Apparently someone managed to hack (?) the PC version of the game and add multiplayer capabilities. Imagine this would be doable on Xbox version. Supporting System LInk in GTA Vice City of up to 32 players let's say... I am dreaming I know. http://www.vc...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
Those IDE cables are really a problem. I have currently 2 kinds of them: ASUS black cables from motherboard packaging where the longer parts is over 30 cm and shorter part under 10 cm - these fit well in all Xboxes if you use the order like this: DVD - PCB - HDD. Another type of cables are so called...

What are those two chips next to IDE connector?
Can anybody please tell me what are those two chips next to IDE connector on the motherboard? I marked them with the red and green arrows. I am asking just because I think that the air flow in this area is not very strong and if you start replacing the original IDE cable with something else, the spa...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
I must admit that 80 wire cables are improvement as for the speed. And you need them otherwise the Xbox will not boot. I have installed the ASUS black cable from a motherboard package and I had to plug the DVD drive first, then the motherboard and the HDD as last. Otherwise it would not fit, the PC ...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
OK I receiver the adapters (Agestar STI-2) and I am a bit worried. The manual is completely in Chinese but I can see some words like 80pin PATA pointing out to the cable! They don't want to tell me that I cannot use a 40pin PATA cable do they? Also there are only 2 optons on the jumper: ON device 1 ...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
Well to be honest I don't care about anything else than a 120 GB SSD working like a charm.. including Soul Calibur 2 IGR... any sort of shit in terms of freezing, long boot times, need for anything else than retail 40 pin cable etc. and I am quickly back to good old PATA Seagate 80 GB HDDs... just t...

I once needed to repair a movie DVD and I went to a games shop and they fixed it with some professional machine for roughly $2. Took a minute not more.

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
Is it necessary to set master/slave/cable select jumpers on DVD drive and SATA adaptors? Assuming there are no cable select options on most of the adapters. All I know is that the hard drive should be set to cable select, that's the way I've got it set up but it is a PATA 80 GB Seagate. I never touc...

Re: Update BIOS on modded Xbox
Another option that I did yeasterday after some heavy research over internet, is to use The M8plus pack v1.4.1 of the PBL Metoo Edition BIOS loader. I needed to fix a non working IGR in Soul Calibur 2 (Xecuter 2 BIOS sucks at this) and you really do not need to flash anything. Just copy the BIN, CFG...
