Re: Chips for sale?
I'd buy a couple if you need to get the numbers up. Don't really need them but it can never hurt to have some lying around

Re: Good soldering iron?
Be sure to leave the iron for a few minutes before you begin so that it reaches max temperature. Clean the end of the iron on damp sponge. Then tin the end, this means melt a little solder on the end of the iron so it goes shiny. This helps melt solder on a PCB. Solder away! :) Assuming its working ...

Re: Lost Softmod: Errors 7 & 21
Not sure if this is relevant but when I used to use XboxHDM on an old Dell I'd have to do this: Turn on the PC with the optical drive attached and the disc in, no hard drives attached. Wait for POST to almost complete then hit pause/break on the keyboard, attach the xbox hard drive, then hit pause/b...

Re: Xbox Componant Cable
haha well in theory it should say in your monitors manual. However I have a BENQ G2222HDL here that says nothing about sync on green in the manual but it does have it since I use it with my VGA xbox. I think perhaps the new monitors just have it these days but I can't be sure since this is the only ...

Re: donations spending
The Joggler is a great bit of kit, we have one in the kitchen that mum uses for internet radio(the kitchen seems to be a Faraday cage so we can't get normal radio). Its also handy for quickly googleing something. Had a bit of a panic when the O2 software was automatically replaced with Openpeak stuf...

Re: ATX TO XBOX CONVERSION
I posted this one on the old forum: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j44/jimmo_2006/xbox%20micro/diagram.png This is for xbox 1.0 and 1.1 only. Credit goes to someone at xboxscene (I can't remember who) who'd done a really messy sketch that I redrew and changed slightly . The transistor in the orig...
