Re: Need help with Tsop recovery after bad flash..
The d0 point looks ok. You should be able to reinstall a wire on it although I highly suggest you go for the alternate d0 point on the bottom side of the motherboard. Pulling the wire off like you did could have weaken the epoxy bond between the copper trace and the fiberglass board. Applying heat d...

Re: Need help with Tsop recovery after bad flash..
I got an 1.0 with some kind of Modchip installed on the LPC. This thing will work just as a aladdin modchip on a 1.0/1.1 specifically (I mean it can work on other rev but requires rather extreme modifications to the motherboard). About that wire you "pulled". Did you yanked it out or did ...

Re: Need help with Tsop recovery after bad flash..
Anyway.. is it more complex to do the 28 wire thing or to desolder the tsop? How much for an flash programmer supporting the xbox tsops? Do you know? 28-wire would be more advisable if you're not a seasoned solderer. Personnally, I find it faster to desolder the TSOP and solder it back on but I'm u...

Re: Need help with Tsop recovery after bad flash..
Hum sorry, I was under the impression the Xbox in question was a 1.0. In that case sorry, you're right and 1.4 indeed have 256KB TSOP, so there's no splitting possible... You're left with the 28-wire modchip or desolder TSOP options. I'm not versed in DDS manipulation and such but maybe the problema...

Re: Need help with Tsop recovery after bad flash..
Hey, can I chime in? First of all, tsop_m7 or tsop_d6 will not work if you've got M8+ (partly flashed) on your TSOP, there's no denying that. Long story short, the 2bl on Evox M8+ and everything not M8+ (and X2 5xxx btw) are different and will not unpack a kernel the same way. The TSOP recovery tric...

Patch submission
Hi, I submitted 3 patches on Redmin back in October 2015 and they don't seem to have been touched at all. Issue 346 Issue 347 Issue 348 I updated Issue 347 just now and I figured it would be good just to notify any developer outside here on the forums. Patches include code cleanup, added "Turn ...

Re: Wiring Ethernet Port to Router
Hum, all 4 parts seem good but I'd go for the cheaper one, the JD2-0010NL, just for the sake of it. Probably the most expensive ones are rated for more insertion cycles. In your case, you'll likely insert a cable once in there and be done with it! It's important to note that the datasheet snippet y...

Re: xbox fraging after 15 hours of being on[1.0]
I think the PSU is slowly dying. If it's a Foxlink PSU, I would check for cracked joints underneath it. It's the kind of issue you can get as the traces under the PCB heats up and restrict current flow. This process can be slow enough to take a couple of hours if you're just on the edge of supplyin...

Re: (WIP) New modchip coming in
Well it's a niche market. People that just want their Xbox to run homebrew will basically softmod it and be done with it. This modchip is for people who like having more customization options.morpheous wrote:would there be a market for this modchip?

Re: Wiring Ethernet Port to Router
Biggest issue I can see here is the lack of isolation on the Xbox's side. Ethernet specs requires specific electronic coupling scheme to remove any DC and ground offset between multiple connected devices on the Ethernet bus. A quick look at the 1893AF datasheet, the PHY device used on 1.0 motherboar...

Re: how to tranfer data faster to hdd?
Offline HDD cloner could do the trick. You just need to make sure the unit handles only raw data and does not try to read the file system because most likely, FATX isn't supported! Since there is no software to my knowledge that can resize FATX partitions without losing data, you'll only be able to ...

Re: OG Xbox Slim DVD Drive
I've used a laptop IDE DVD-RW drive in one of my Xbox in the past. It was a LG but I don't have the model number on hands right now. I can look it up if you want. Anyway, it was on a 1.6b console and if I recall well, I had a custom Evox M8+ bios with the "Disable DVD drive check" option e...
