Sweet man that's awesome are u going to add anything to it? Only plan I have at the moment is to have 2 hdd's in it. 1 for xbmc and other xbox stuff and a 2nd for gentoox. not got any plans for now for anything else yet but these things evolve. Temp wise, I've not seen it move more than 1 deg off 5...

if i recall corectly you need to setup partitions with xbpartitioner 1.0 and format with 1.1

theres loads of room in there if you plop a 2.5" hdd in there and slot it under the dvd

Xbox-hq is the site i used to use for info, found xbox-scene forums to clicky for my liking, very rarely went further than the news page there.

what if he popped it into a tsop'd box and just used an unleashx boot disc but not formating f or g? but the cluster size may stop that working i dont know, sounds easyer to just grab a copy of your mates hdd but just use ftp in the future

Unfortunate lesson, it does help to do lots of reading first before doing anything risky. I never bother with chips myself ( only ever fitted 4 of them ) I much prefer to just flash the tsop using a softmod to gain access to flashing tools like a modded evodash or shallax's linux flash tool, it does...

Sounds like you've fried the chip, I've never had an Aladdin so i have no idea if it has a second bank that you can use but if you look up the instal diagrams you will find a connection called D0, cut this and your box should boot again as long as your hdd was locked and the ms dash is were it's mea...

Lol :) I'm old skool man :) these anti tamper bolts have been around for years, just check what holds the ignition barrel onto any motorbike in the last 35+ years. if i don't have the tool, i will make one, thats why I have lathes and mills and pillar drills :D just realized that I now have 3 un fin...

I keep meaning to put my torx set into my lathe and drill out the security hole myself. I have so many busted wireless 360 pads that need repairing too XD

yeah, torx with a pin in the middle, ones i had were more dome head style, I just took a hacksaw to each head and cut a slot that my good old flathead screwdriver could work with (except were they were buried next to components i had to use grips and bully them out)
