Re: Forum infected by spammers / hackers

Yes I get that and certainly it is not complicated  but the question still has not been answered: is that buzz exotica org uk a genuine email notification from this forum or not? Confirmation of that is the main reason I posted.

Re: [Artwork] Emulator Icons: Origins Style

Talking of fonts as I was earlier I discovered I was wrong about there not being a 'full' original Xbox font. The font name to look for is Xbold . I'm not sure whether it is an official font or a user created one but at the very least it matches the official Xbox characters we do have and the others...

Re: Forum infected by spammers / hackers

Sounds ^ like the same sort of email I've been receiving and deleting usually without even opening - but I checked the most recent one and just like the first I'd received months ago it reported a new PM from some unknown XBMC4Xbox member sent by buzz exotica org uk. Apparently this purports to be t...

Re: Can I FTP Extras Disc to Xbox?

The problem mentioned with the Extras disc is almost certain just a media incompatibility issue. Philips are the worst disc drives for compatibility IMHO but that is only based on my own experience of the single, old, secondhand Philips' disc drive I own. Incidentally that also came in a v1.4 Xbox. ...

Re: Selecting a BIOS

I've never understood why anyone should really be bothered with which BIOS they had as long as it gives the necessary functionality you want. With a v1.6 you're pretty limited anyway as only the EvoXm8plus.v16.137 series (1mb, 512K, 256K) and the 512K only x2.5035.v16plus.137 being the only two type...

Re: Korean Xbox my dad got me as a kid

HeXEn = good choice. However I've not used HeXEn to install a dash on a chipped machine so I do not have any direct experience on doing that. It should just have a menu option somewhere to install a dash. It should not be difficult and if something goes wrong, being a chipped machine, it will still ...

Re: Korean Xbox my dad got me as a kid

What sort of apps and services are you talking about because the updating of the UnleashX (UX) dash, except in its very early days, has never really done much except correct relatively minor glitches. The final version: v584 is actually more flawed than some of the previous ones which is why I use v...

Re: Korean Xbox my dad got me as a kid

You have to be sure whether it is a softmod or a chipped machine. It could even be a TSOP. I do not know enough about Rocky5's Softmodding Tools/Extras etc to know if that behaviour is proof that it is not a softmod. But as far as I know the only way of determining whether is has been chipped is to ...

Re: Help Cleaning up my E Drive

TDATA at 3.48GB is obviously the culprit, the rest looks pretty normal to me. A lot of Xbox games don't write anything or comparatively little to TDATA. However that is where DLC is usually installed. I've just checked the, still reasonably easily found, all Xbox DLC pack which includes both updates...

Re: Help Cleaning up my E Drive

Coming back to this a bit late and looking at the later E:\drive post I'd guess the Dash file there is your XBMC4Gamers install which suggests that if it is your main dash the evoxdash.xbe is a shortcut to that folder. But without more information on the contents and my lack of knowledge as regards ...

Why All The Spam?

What is it with this forum that attracts such regular and persistent spamming posts? I've never seen this sort of thing directed at one forum as it is done here. It is not as though there is a significant visitor count, it is a pretty niche forum yet this sort of stuff gets posted here most weeks. I...

Re: Cleaning up my C Drive

My recommendation is do not touch your C:\drive at least not until you get some reliable specialist advice. Your main dash launch XBE is already on the C:\drive (evoxdash.xbe). I guess you want to move the whole installation to C:\ and the obvious question to ask is why? Standard practice for XBMC4X...

Re: ACL DVD2Xbox

Good find that old WayBack article: seems authoritative so ACL = Action Control List is what it is from now on. Interested about that stuff on the Riddick ACL because that was my first encounter with a game that won't display properly when installed until it is ACL patched. As I found out myself you...

Re: Evox skins

Apologies for bumping this thread but I have been going through the skin pack and installing the ones I didn't have, both UX and EvoX. I came across an oddity with the UX skin: xbox media solution . The skin works fine when installed but I've found it impossible to open the skin.xml using the UX fil...

Re: ACL DVD2Xbox

That was one of the sources I actually found in my own researches and one of them that prompted this thread. Thanks for the link but I'm not convinced; access control, auto-correct and even action control are terms that could overlap in meaning because what the DVD2Xbox ACLs apparently do. DVD2Xbox ...

Re: Blackbolt Classic Final 2.0 on new XBMC4XBOX

I have posted about this elsewhere but I thought it might be a good idea to add the information to this thread where I originally posted about that "Visualizations" 'preview' display issue with this skin. I'm no XBM4Xbox skinning expert so in the absence of help here I had to work through all the XM...

ACL DVD2Xbox

I hope this is the best place to ask this but does anyone here know for certain the exact meaning of "ACL" in relation to its use with the DVD2 Xbox app? In general computing ACL means Access Control List and I've always assumed that is what it meant when used for this purpose too. I've even used th...

Re: Xbox stuck in boot loop

You should be able to reset the XBMC to default settings using:- https://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/wiki/Settings Try that first. However if the console has been region changed and the display screen does not support the resolution eg. a PC monitor which does not support PAL interlaced resolutions you hav...

Re: Wide icons for emulators

What specific emulator(s) and wide icons are you talking about? Wide icon dimensions are typically 758x140 24bit and if (re)named to "default.tbn" and put in any emulator, app or game folder they should display as the default icon whatever display option you set in the skin. The fact is they are are...
