Re: Trusty 1.4GHZ/733mhz 128mb ram

Good shout Dan, Checked the heat sink was still seated nicely which it was, so tried dropping the stock fan back in again and temps go back to normal again. maybe this antec fan is poo and can't move enough air so i moved the fan on the cpu heat sink closer to the exhaust fan and although I don't ow...

Are you saying that the xbox can launch an iso file located on the hdd? I never knew the xbox could do that?

I didn't fit the metal shielding in the first place :D

I really don't want a pile of dust rammed into my cpu adaptor so I am going to have to fix the turbulance or put the stock fan back in :|

Re: Trusty 1.4GHZ/733mhz 128mb ram

Just did a 80mm fan mod with very odd results indeed, as soon as i powered it back on the temp started going through the roof  I tried cutting some of the slats away behind the fan for better air flow & even that made little difference. as soon as i spun the fan round to blow air in the temps...

I tried TSOP splitting a long while ago for duel boot but required a switch and was risky. the button shortcuts are much better though, just take a little longer.

Re: Clock cap

Whilst we are on this subject has anyone ever come across the battery replacement mod for the clock cap? I recall reading about it somewhere once some time ago most likely on the dead xbox-scene forums. Always wanted to add a battery so my clocks stay running.

Re: Trusty 1.4GHZ/733mhz 128mb ram

Been testing out Quake 3 Arena with this machine the last few days & I have to say the improvement is massive! I can set everything into the highest graphic mode and it handles it flawlessly! Can't wait to get home from work and bash it some more :D

Thanks again Trusty!

Re: Xbox laptop power supply help?

guess it all depends on how big you want this laptop to be, If I was going to build one i would go for ultra slim and keep the psu remote and prob sling it in a 360 psu case. Whilst having a look about for ben hecks just now i found this: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1360501894/darkmatter-xb...

I would try cleaning the laser anyway I can or I would borrow another dvd drive for a minute or two from another xbox to get the job done - then you can sort out your cluster size then fill it up and enjoy ;)

Random power off

Was using one of my xbox's to play some tunes with the visualization giving it some yesterday for about an hour and out of nowhere the xbox shut down, hesitantly i turned it back on and went straight to system info to find the cpu temp scrolling back down from 90 degrees, I Immediately powered it ba...

Re: Lock hardmodded hard drive for softmodded Xbox

Sorry mate dumb reply on my behalf, your trying to use the hdd from a hard modded drive on a softmoded xbox, sure you may be able to lock the hdd with a eeprom swap however this would involve unlocking any drives that was previously tied to the old eeprom so you can still boot them which kinda revol...
