Re: Xbox with CF Mod - Compact Flashto IDE adapter

Re: XBMC doesn't play VCDs
What brand of DVD drive do you have? I vaguely remember that some brands were better than others when it came to reading CD's.

He wants you to post a log, so people can see what the issue is. That should help in debugging it

Re: XBMC doesn't play VCDs
I played a VCD on xbmc once, but that was over 10 years ago now... I can confirm that it worked back then (not that it really helps you, sorry)

Re: Xbox with CF Mod - Compact Flash to IDE adapter
Would there be a superior alternative between a CF and a PATA SSD? Neither would need a SATA adapter, which is an advantage over a SATA SSD, but would one of these two be better than the other? Looking online it's easier to find CF cards from known manufacturers, but they are more expensive (I'm loo...

Re: Component + TOSLINK to HDMI
If you do decide to go that route just order directly from Monoprice and save some $$$. I order cables from them quite frequently and used their television wall mount in my home theatre setup. Save more if you sign up for their e-mail and wait it out. They had 20% of all their branded products on J...

Re: Component + TOSLINK to HDMI
Thanks! I may give up on the upscaling and just use the converter I linked to. I need to pass the HDMI to the receiver because my TV has only one HDMI input, so I'll be using the receiver as a switch. Also, I did find this , which would probably work well on the HDMI out from my receiver, but it's a...

Re: Component + TOSLINK to HDMI
I'd love to do an HDMI mod like yours, but if it doesn't have surround sound, it really isn't worth it to me. The clean, one cord connection would be awesome though. I wonder if I could fit it in my slim case (things are already pretty crowded with the DVD board in there, but a 2.5" HDD might h...

Component + TOSLINK to HDMI
I am looking for something to convert my component video (and TOSLINK audio) to HDMI, and ideally upscale/upconvert this to 1080p. The closest thing I have found so far is this: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-105971-Component-Digital-Converter/dp/B0034HWQ4Y But that only takes the component and op...

Re: Xbox games on 360
Thanks for all the info!! I'll keep that in mind if I decide to take the plunge into modding a 360.
To answer my question tho, it sounds like the answer is no, the new slims are not able to be modded.

Re: Xbox games on 360
I fixed this one about 5 years ago. It was my first 360. I guess I'm glad it lasted this long.
Can the new slims be modded? Like the Xbox 360 E or whatever it's called?

Re: Xbox games on 360

Re: Xbox games on 360
How can other emulators work but not xbmc4xbox? Just not supported by the emulator? I'm assuming that to run games off of the hard drive I'll need to mod it. Does anyone know if the chihiro games work on this? Not sure if the extra ram the 360 has is available to the emulator. Thanks for the info gu...

Xbox games on 360
Does anyone know if there is a way to move my Xbox game saves and dlc onto my 360? Maybe using a hard drive transfer cable from my computer? My TV's component inputs are on the fritz, and it only work in 720p or higher. That's a problem because almost every Xbox game is in 480i or 480p, and the reso...

Re: Audio stuck on analog
Unfortunately no. That box only takes in analog stereo audio (red and white cables). You can only get two channels with that. It will convert your audio to digital for output over HDMI, but that will not help. You need your Xbox to output in digital.

Re: How do you edit hex for games to be in Widescreen?
You need the game installed on a hard disk to do this. Alternatively, you could re-burn the modified game onto a new disk, although unless you do it in a specific manner, the files may not be written in the most efficient order and the game could load slowly

Re: How do you edit hex for games to be in Widescreen?
You can't use a physical disk because a disk is read only. You would need to rip the disk and modify it's contents to do this. HxD is a good option for hex editing, it's also a good idea to make backups as you have said. Unfortunately, there is not a good way to find the codes unless you are profici...
