Re: Long File Name mp3's on hard drive.
I didnt know there was an automatic file renaming, how is this done? when i tried to copy stuff over (mainly music with long file names( it simply failed to transfer unless i manually edited the filename. You probably weren't using XBMC at the time. Certain other dashboards like Evox won't do this ...

Re: Unable to scan content - Movies
I just put 33028 in the common folder, and it's not working. Maybe it just broke again, or maybe it's just down today. I dunno.

Re: Easy way to downscale movies to play on XBMC4XBOX
You can use MeGUI. I wouldn't say it's very easy to the layperson, but you can get it done with a bit of patience. You'll eventually be able to toss in a video file, seperate it from the audio, extract subtitles, crop or resize the video, and of course downscale the video to any quality you want bef...

Re: Subtitles broken in mkv videos
Thanks for those. It does show me that while the problem was never fixed, it's at least been known for a couple years like the music thumbnail issue, so there's no need to pile on more logs. This all seems to be dying down, but most things are still good. And the files work fine on Kodi PC or my Kin...

Subtitles broken in mkv videos
Apparently broken at least from 3.5 to 3.5.3. They work on 3.5 Beta 3, but I didn't keep Betas 4 and 5. XBMC still knows the subtitles are embedded in the mkv videos (anime) because they're still listed when I check for them, but the subtitles just don't show up. I also checked on a version from Apr...

Re: Re-signing Xbox game saves to different Xbox
I just tried it, but it doesn't seem to help. Have you used it? It seems to take a save file and change its signature into something else that doesn't work. It'll take the save file that actually works, and change it into one that doesn't work. I entered the HDD Key in the xbhddkey.ini, which change...

Re-signing Xbox game saves to different Xbox
I heard there's a program for this, but I don't know which one. It pretty much doesn't even matter with game saves except for PSO, DOAX and maybe Forza Motorsports, but I have my old PSO saves from a dead Xbox, and I'd like to revive them. I can't go back to the beginning. I know how to change the e...

Xbox controller mod parts?
Basically stuff like clear thumbsticks and maybe the d-pad for the original S-Controllers. Anyone know of a page that sells stuff like that? Or, do the 360 thumbsticks fit? Mods for those are easy to find.

Re: HELP! (softmod)
That green dash isn't stock, btw, it's an old tHc Lite mod. You can tell by the way it "flips" into place at startup. The stock dash doesn't do that, and it doesn't have the shimmering orb. http://www.technobuffalo.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Xbox-Dashboard-1.jpg There's likely a config...

Re: FTP to PC using IPv6
It was only indirectly related, in that I just wanted to have an Xbox from my friend's house play music from the public IP of my PC (running Win7 and a Filezilla server) using XBMC through its FTP. I couldn't get anything through IPv4, but IPv6 worked, but of course the Xbox didn't allow IPv6. I had...

FTP to PC using IPv6
Failing that, does anyone know how I can set a pc to allow public access using its IPv4 if it normally uses its IPv6? I didn't think it would even care, but I can't get the ports (that I barely understand) set to connect through IPv4 at all, and IPv6 is no problem at all....aside from the absurdly l...

No, XMBC won't look for a thumbnail for the parent source unless you set it yourself.

Re: Request: Improving priority for music thumbnails
I at least found a partial fix for this. Using MP3tag I was able to Add Cover images to my music individually. http://i64.tinypic.com/142maa.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/2ib2q7t.jpg So that was great. But the problem with getting XBMC to display them all lay in the coding. Apparently, once XBMC has a ...

Animated GIF support for thumbnails?
I didn't expect it to work at all, but I'd made a few gifs a while back, and decided to try one recently. It actually works pretty well, where it works. Two pics, just to show two of the frames. http://i66.tinypic.com/rrm9zl.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/d876b.jpg My friends and I are suckers for stuff...

Re: XBMC Icons & Thumbails
If you mean a thumbnail for something like your overall GAMES or APPS folder, pressing the White button over them should give you that option. http://i67.tinypic.com/d876b.jpg Ignore the Wizard icon, but the GAMES icon is something you can have XBMC search for. Any reasonable image in your xbox shou...

Ok, I made the advancedsettings.xml file and put it in the Userdata folder. I'll run the music player again. I do have a log of last night, if that helps.

Multiple softmods shut off
They cut off during music play on XBMC after a few hours, but also during a spirited session of Mario Party 1 on Surreal 6.0. They don't overheat, but they shut off like they think they did. I do the basic AUF softmod install, and on one Xbox, I used the HeXen disc to install Krayzie's softmod. No e...

As long as it's on the radar, that's really all I can ask.
I'll try that conversion tool, too. Thanks, both.
