Re: i got this email what is this real or somekind of hack ??

I've received a couple of pm's recently with the last one being received on Friday supposedly from Buzz, I opened the first one which was spam & after reading this topic deleted the second without opening it.

It might be the transistor number Q7C2 - here is a video showing how to check & replace it.

If you haven't already viewed it check out Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool kit v1.1.2 video, you can populate Xboxhdm2.2 with Rocky5's XBHDM Build.zip

Re: XBMC4Gamers (Pet project)

Just updated to XBMC4Gamers & know that its prime aim is as a game launcher but was wondering if its possible to directly boot into emulators from the programs window ? (I can get them to launch but only from within a folder)

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread

I'm using this 80 wire cable, its a bit of a hatchet job though & am not sure of its longevity as I've stripped the braiding off it to allow for greater flexibility - that said I've been using it for over three months now without an issue.

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread

I've got a couple of them, they boot my 500gb hdds (seagate & western digital) without problem but they wouldn't boot my 2tb drive, one of these which are a similar price boot the 2tb hdd though.

Rocky5 has a decent user friendly Softmodding Tool & Extras Disc linked in his signature & tutorial videos on youtube - they could be worth a try.

Re: Help with XBOX v1.6 capacitor! and more

I've not heard of any v1.6 clock caps leaking. (looks like microsoft fitted a different type in the v1.6 xbox)

Re: Is this really necessary ? Xbox Clock Capacitor Removal

Over the last few years I've opened quite a few xboxes but only seen one (a 1.1version) with a leaking cap - I replaced it with a 2.7v super capacitor from maplin.

I can't confirm this but I've read that if the capacitor from a 1.6v xbox is removed (& not replaced) it won't boot.

Re: Service code 06. Everyone LOVES this error. Gahhhh!

Its not a necessity to remove/desolder the eeprom chip to be able to get a reading off it - there's a few tutorials around the web showing both methods.
Is your reader like this one off ebay ?

XboxHDM has always let me lock/unlock a compatible hdd with the eeprom.bin !
If you have multiple eeprom's backed up double check the serial numbers with LiveInfo Beta 3.
