Re: Creating E Drive larger than 4-5GB?

I didn't mean to imply I didn't read the follow up. I just grabbed a quote so you'd be notified. As far as tests go, I was just wondering, i suppose, if you put Rocky5's possible problem to the test; i.e. starting the Xbox from a powered off state with a disc. Otherwise, I'm just going to have to r...

Re: Creating E Drive larger than 4-5GB?

Hey man. When you ended up finally making the E drive larger, did you run any tests about what Rocky 5 was saying. You seem to be the only documented person I could find who attempted to install all the DLC and ran into the same issue I have. I want to know how safe it is and what I can and can't d...

Re: X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)

Just adding another footnote in this saga. I just modded another xbox. This time a softmod with Rocky5's latest tools (great and easy BTW!). Was going though my list of copied games, installing updates, DLC, and what not. I was unable to launch my copy of Jade Empire: Limited Edition in XBMC4XBOX. I...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

No. I haven't done any work on this since August of 2017. Headphones over on Emuxtras did end up sending me his save set, which I uploaded to my xbox and still couldn't create a problem. As in, I could continue to create the files/folders, upload more via ftp, and have the xbox itself load games pro...

Re: X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)

I have had a similar experience but i'm not sure its the bios that's causing it. I recently updated to a 2TB drive from a 120gb, flashing the M8 bios to the X2 during the process. At the moment i have 2 games, Taito Legends 1 and 2 both that hang at the first load screen. They both ran flawlessly w...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

Just an update - I've been in touch with headphones and I got him the same UDATA set that you and I tested with. Here is what he states: So, very strangely if I upload that pack to my box everything works fine. I think there must be specific some file/folder combination which is causing the issue he...

Tested on my box using both iND 5004/M8+/X3 3294 BIOSes.
No problems at all.

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

Update: Just tested 401 saves and games still boot so there seems to be no issue for me regarding the 240 saves folder limit. I even removed some saves and loaded games that previously had a save and they create a new save file and load fine. Also XBMC is the dash im using so it boots games. https:...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

So I've gotten some responses from Zorlon over at EP, but still awaiting some data from headphone over at EMU. Based on what I have gathered so far I am beginning to thing that this may be a softmod limit/issue. Now honestly I don't know anything about softmods or really much beyond my hard-mod X3 a...

Re: X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)

I just wanted to put some closure (for the time being at least, as I don't know how much more I will investigate this). The game I was having problems with was Animaniacs. I was having another weird issue with this game. I had renamed the XBE title to be the complete game name - "Animaniacs: Th...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

XBMC isn’t the app to use to see saves it just parses the folder and lists them all. It will be individual saves, I will download the save site backup later tonight and test this out. And the reason I have said this is an issue is because folk have had this issue and removing a few folders from E f...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

How many folders can you put inside say, E:\UDATA\00000000\ So I've contacted headphone (over on EMU) and Zorlon (over at epforums) and still haven't heard back for any clarification especially regarding the 240 file limit. This number has been quoted everywhere - not just for save games but in ter...

Save game manager that actually works?

So this isn't a knock against the XBMC built-in save game manager per-se, as much as it is against all save game managers I have tried. None of them can deal with the realistic situation of dealing with save games, updates, and DLC. TL:DR - Looking for a method which will allow me to clean up game e...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

The Xbox isn’t your typical computer, so if the limitation is in fact present it’s at the kernel level and it’s a thing MS put into the system on purpose or by mistake. I have seen threads where folk have has issues with black screens and removing a folder from the UDATA folder fixed it. I personal...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

Only way to check is have over 240 saves and see if the kernel will let you boot a new game. Supposedly the Xbox will resfuse to boot new games if the limit is met. This isn’t to say the 240 folder limit is for everything else. Yeah...but that experiment is pretty time consuming :) But, assuming it...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

Any file system has limitations coming from the way it structures data internally, practically from the highest value that can be held in the internal byte structure. They are inert in themselves, they don't DO things, they're just a structure that map the contents of the actual user data stored on...

Re: What are the *real* limitations of FATX

So I'm surprised I haven't seen an answer on this yet... No one can corroborate the FATX data from that link or explain how/why save games are limited to 240 when it is clear (from experimentation) that there doesn't appear to be a limit on the number of directories/files that can be created in TDAT...

Re: Creating E Drive larger than 4-5GB?

enable the partition table support in the X3 HDD menu. Yeah - there is an option called "Use saved partition table" under the new HDD setup. It is the only setting that seems to deal with this. It is/was already enabled as I found out when I first upgraded my drive to 2TB that if it wasn'...

Thanks Kaos...I did know that. Or at least I rediscovered it again when I was flashing the BIOS.
For some reason I feel more comfortable transferring via FTP and flashing from within the console, but that's just preference I suppose.
