Wow, anyone tried this? heXEn DVD unmodded XBOX

Check out these links, very interesting: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/postt26685.html https://www.techbliss.org/threads/complete-tosec-sets-archive-org.360/#post-709 Seems possible with games, but what about heXEn? Could really simplify building new HDDs, especially TSOP. I'm guessing we need to firs...

Re: Original XBOX HDD DOA - trying to replace

Since your original drive is toast, you probably need to do the IDE swap method and build the new drive from scratch with Hexen. There are several guides and YouTube videos out there, just search around and you should find what you are looking for. Once you have everything back up and running, I wou...

Re: Open source Xbox Live project (update Jan 8 2017)

Xlink Kai still works and it does not depend of the XBMC version. https://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ You only need a PC running it. There are more complicated ways to run it, but not necessary : you need a router with DD-wrt runing the Kai engine, and and older XBMC version wich has the Kai front end. Th...

Hypothetical Clone HDD to Identical HDD for second TSOP XBOX

Pretty much like the title suggests..

I have two identical hard drives and two TSOP XBOXs

Can I simply clone one unlocked HDD to the other and put that in my second TSOP XBOX and have everything the same?

Thanks

[TEMPLATE] Custom XBMC 3D Game Cover Icons

Any template to easily make custom XBMC 3D game cover icons?

I'm wanting to make some custom 3D covers for things like

DoomX
Quake 2x
KOF 94 Rebout [Unreleased]
etc.

Thanks

Re: Xbox with CF Mod - Compact Flash to IDE adapter

I agree that SD is a more cost effective solution, especially for smaller sizes like 32GB.

Got one of these for a retro DOS PC - works great!

SD cards larger than 64GB get expensive so I decided on SSD for my XBOX.

Re: Removing rust from OG XB metal shielding

How does the video grounding work? AFAIK their is only one ground (all ground contacts connect on the motherboard) As I tried removing the shielding and ended up with the bands due to the above. (So can't we just ground the motherboard to the ground plain on the underside of the PSU?) Got a black s...

Re: Removing rust from OG XB metal shielding

I just paint them now. Not only does it stop the rust, it actually looks a lot better I think. All you need to do on the base is scrap off the paint from the tabs that touch the PC board around the mount holes to maintain the earth connections. I usually just use white metal paint because it is pre...

Did you change any jumper settings on the drives? By default they should both be set to CS cable select.

Re: Who runs a 2Tb drive?

I'm not sure of any way other than connecting to PC and checking with software. I used CrystalDiskInfo for Windows. Later I used HDAT2 boot stick to disable. Hopefully you don't have to mess with it, but here's the guide I followed just in case you do. https://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&...

Removing rust from OG XB metal shielding

I bought one of the Halo Limited Edition Xbox consoles. Overall it's in good working condition (no cracks, minor scratches) but the metal shielding has lots of rust spots. I'm thinking it got flooded and moisture from wet bugs/debris sat on those spots longer. I disassembled everything and cleaned e...

Re: Who runs a 2Tb drive?

APM = Advanced Power Management It can be problematic on those Seagate drives, especially ones pulled from external enclosures Usually you would notice tiny clicking, chirping, head parking sounds if it's affected you might need to disable apm on that drive APM??? Yeah bugger, that's my fault, I lef...

Re: Xbox AC power interference

You could try using another power point circuit although I suspect you will be getting spiking going right through the whole house wiring. The xbox power supply has a filter designed to suppress such spikes but nothing is perfect. You could use an isolation transformer but either way, the problem i...

Xbox AC power interference

My Xboxes are picky about power fluctuations and will flicker the video for a second when the compressor on my fridge kicks in. I live in a older house - my AC outlets test 117~119v. When the compressor on the fridge kicks in, power dips to 115v. None of my newer electronics seem to be affected, jus...

Re: how change XBMC cpu gpu temps to celsius?

I believe you would have to change the Language / Region setting(s) for that. http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/wiki/Appearance_Settings#International Bummer, I was afraid of that. I was just thinking how strange it is that I monitor cpu gpu temps in celsius but weather in fahrenheit. Oh well. I guess it...
