Re: X2/X3 BIOSes won't load some games?! (others do)
I found pressing the small white button on gamepad whilst on selected game allows the option to run in PAL, NTSC modes. So do this before actually selecting the game to run, via X. I found a lot of PAL games especially did exactly this when set to Nstc modes ie 720P etc. I own an X3 myself and poste...

Re: Picked up another xbox
Caps can be bought from RS Components, Maplin or any electronic component dealer, beware Ebay as cheap replicas are often sold. Capacitors have a uf rating printed on the side, this must be adhered to. The Voltage rating is also printed which can be greater than the voltage rated but NEVER lower. It...

Re: Xbox with TSOP Flash stopped working, blinks Red Light
That`s what used to be known as the Christmas tree effect when a chip has been installed badly, bad LPC header connections, D0 etc. An Aladdin XT2 or TSOP can be reflashed via Hexen Tools disc or Slayers All In One Disc. A TSOP box will have to have been soft modded prior in order to run the tools d...

Re: Fair cost for xbox consoles
Hi Keith, I too have your problem but for me its people selling an xbox with every peripheral they own and game whether its Barbie Horse Riding etc. I do understand people want the best deal for their old swag but a lot of the time I spend walking away as I never want to offend them and just because...

Re: Who runs a 2Tb drive?
I always use a ultra ata ribbon cable with my adaptors (cheap and will eliminate that). I put all emulators on F in specific folders to me as I use my own adapted skin which requires this. I put all my Xbox games on G in a folder called, you guessed it "Xbox Games" for the above reason. On...

Re: Who runs a 2Tb drive?
Ok, i`m sorry but I have to disagree with anyone slating the Seagate ST2000DM001. I have personally supplied around 32 x 2tb modified xboxes with this drive and all remain fully functional and reliable. My drives have been brand new and fitted with Ultra ATA ribbon cables to a sata adaptor I have fo...

Re: Case Mods Showcase
Thanks guys, I did find a gamepad and did the same, its a fast simple paint job that looks almost stock. Little or no chance of making a hash of it as long as you clean it well and strip it right down. If you own a crystal its a must in my book now, some great spray colours around too, just be light...

Re: Case Mods Showcase
I`m more a function over asthetics fella but today i decided to spray paint a crystal from the inside. I steeped the casings in liquid sugar soap as it came from a nicoteen home and had a lovely yellowish tinge hence volunteered itself to me loose with a paint can. I was passed the idea by a Youtube...

Re: Atari 520 ST skip rescue
I believe it was Atari`s competition to the mighty Commodore Amiga 500. It has a massive collection of games and from what i can remember was great for music utilities for all budding beat boys back in the day. I`m sure google and other members will have a more nostalgic and informative description,...

Re: Amiga Emulation (WINUAE)
I had an Amiga 500 with the 512MB upgrade in the trapdoor. This machine saw me through my naval career I was a gaming addict. Weekends stuck in the base made more than comfortable by all the classics, Wings, Cannon Fodder, Lemmings, Gunship 2000, Superfrog, Darkmere....i could really go on forever. ...

My personal number one is Metal Wolf Chaos. Followed by Panzer Dragoon Orta!
Rallisport Challenge 2 is a great driving game, any Burnout games too.
Ninja Gaiden Black is a classic also. I`ll stop there as this could go on and on....

Re: XBOX 2TB SATA Upgrade Tutorial
Sorry, I have no tales to tell on the use of Hitachi drives. The adaptors are quite cheap to buy and a suitable 24" Dual Ultra ATA ide ribbon cable should be reasonably cheap too. The adaptor pictured has a jumper which is important if your using Chimp on a softmodded box, Cable select mode is ...

Re: 2 TB WD Green
I have definately had issues with this model. I`m sure I used chimp on
a softmod and had no luck so fitted an aladdin and still had bother so
chucked it in my pc. Only 2tb I stand by is Seagate st2000dm001 which
was formerly the Barracuda and now just called Desktop in the UK anyway.

Sixties Keith I have a supply of the above mentioned little shits if you require any, pm me. I had a similar problem when i got a 1.6 mobo that someone had fitted to a 1.x casing. Its fairly well documented that the metal base under the mobo shorts just under gfx chip and blows the little transistor...

Re: New Work Toy
Thats a nice home brew setup, a new level indeed. As far a s a milk vender, I`m assuming it would have to be relatively self cleaning would it not? Would need a good drainage too as the hot and cold will produce alot of condensate, keeping it small sounds a task in itself. Im sure it can be done as ...
