Modded XBOX showing no video signal or blank screen
So I modded the XBOX. It was booting fine. All suddenly, it stopped outputting anything to the screen. The TV is showing no signal at all from the XBOX. The XBOX's DVD can be open/close with the DVD button. The hard drive appears to be making noise so it is reading something. I changed multiple vide...

Re: Would this 250 GB Hitachi IDE drive lock with Chimp?
Have you checked the Xbox Compatibility website? http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list Yeah checked there. One guy says yes and another said no. I am also getting mixed reviews on whether this is lockable. By my experience, most Hitachi drives are lockable but I am not sure about this particular one....

X-Chip Mod Question
Recently I acquired a X-Chip hard modded XBOX. I installed a 2 TB HDD to the system and was able to set it up using Slayer. The EVO dash 0.39 shows 1.8 TB of space available. However, when I tried to transfer files to it, it seems to show errors after 1 TB. Using Bioschecker, it shows an UNKNOWN bio...

Re: Anyway to rebuild a XBOX with a faulty drive?
I have same problem with one of my consoles... I'd say you'd probably have to get a modchip, the Aladdin will do. Once modded you'd be able to install an alternative drive. If you wish you could lock the drive then remove the chip. I'm not sure how this would effect a softmoded console. But if your...

Anyway to rebuild a XBOX with a faulty drive?
Hi, Wonder if anyone can help me. I got a XBOX that has a fried hard drive. I mean you can't boot into it at all. Running XBOXHDM does not help since for whatever reason I can never get it into unlocked state. Is there anyway to rebuild a XBOX hard drive without getting access to the original HDD's ...

Re: Should I softmod xbox with faulty DVD drive?
My xbox has a dvd drive that has trouble reading discs sometimes. Specifically, the console will get stuck at loading screens in game and I can hear the DVD drive struggling to read the disc so I have to reset the xbox. What I plan to do is softmod my xbox with the hotswap method and install a new ...

Recover an original XBOX 1 TB for Windows 7
I got an unlocked 1 TB original XBOX hard drive. It is a Hitachi SATA III drive. I want to use it on a Windows 7 as a normal Windows 7 hard drive. When I plug it in via an USB enclosure, Windows sees the drive but says it needs to be initialized. When I tried to initialize it, I get a CRC error. Any...

Re: "IMPORTANT" remove your capacitors on 1 to 1.5 Xboxes
I agree with the original poster that you should just remove this capacitor regardless what shape it is in. You can just wiggle it with two fingers and it will come off. Cleaning is still tricky so if anyone got a good idea on how to clean that white stuff off the motherboard, please post!

Re: XBOX turns on immediately after you plug it in
Trace corrosion for sure. I had the problem on one. Ended up bumping a tiny resistor off the board and losing it before I could see if it worked. There were sections of the board mainly along a bottom edge that were corroded but only saw maybe 3 questionable traces. Is there anyway to fix this or i...

XBOX boots up with a flickering screen
One of my XBOXs is booting up with a black/white flickering screen. It looks like it might be stuck in PAL mode or something. The XBOX has been modded with Unleashed X. Any idea how to fix this screen issue? Would reinstall Rocky's softmod do the trick?

Re: Best 80 Pin IDE cable for HDD upgrade
None of the cables you get from a pc are really suitable as the slave (cd/dvd) socket is at the other end of the cable compared to an xbox. some often swap them around and plug the master socket in the motherboard port and the slave socket in the cd rom and the mother board plug in the hdd, this le...

Power supply seems ok. I will test with another power supply and report back. Can you specify what do you mean by broken tracks on the motherboard?nidge wrote:Power supply fault or broken tracks on the motherboard?

Best 80 Pin IDE cable for HDD upgrade
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone got a suggestion for an ideal length IDE cable for HDD upgrade. Is there a place to buy a cable like the original 40 pin cable? Most 18 inch IDE cable work but they don't look so hot when you try to force it to fit. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Clock capacitor problem
If a XBOX stop keep tracking of time, will removing the clock capacitor fix the problem? If not, would a softmodded one keep track of the time via the network? What are the ways to force it to keep track of the time?
Thanks for any help in advance!

FTP client on XBOX
i know you can FTP into a XBOX. Is there a native FTP client for the XBOX where you can FTP from the XBOX to another FTP server? I never seen one so just wondering if such program exists. Thanks!
