Re: slayer evox 2.7
No. Use 7Zip to extract the three files from Slayers Evox 2.7 Final.rar. One of these files will be SlaYers_EvoX_Auto-Installer_v2.7FINAL.exe. Right click on it, then select 7Zip - Open Archive. It will ask you for a password - sevx2.7 This contains two files. The one you want is SlaYers_EvoX_Auto-I...

Re: boot disc no longer working - bad bios flash?
Evox M8+ definitely has ozpaulb's LBA48 code. They added it from M7 onwards. It's enabled by default, and you have to use EVTool to disable it, although I can't imagine why you'd want to do that.

Re: Poor resolution and Enable 720p disabled
The Kingroach NDURE 3.1 dashboard is E:\Dash\default.xbe. Before you mess with it, make sure you have a working boot / rescue disc.
In passing, the Team XBMC shortcut is easier to configure, as it's simply a text file.

Re: Need access to original Xbox harddrive
You need a boot / rescue disc. HeXEn (Heimdall's Xbox Engineering Disc, use Google to find it), burned to DVD-R at 4x or slower using iso burning software, will give you FTP access to repair your mistake.

Re: X-Ecuter modchip?
There is no way to flash it while on the Xbox, and I'm not even sure you could reflash it if you desoldered the chip from the PCB. Running PBL to load a new BIOS is relatively easy. The BIOS on the chip runs C:\xboxdash.xbe as its only dash location. Just put PBL Metoo there, edit the BIOS to load C...

Re: X-Ecuter modchip?
It's an Xecuter 1. It's pre-flashed with an Xecuter 1 BIOS, and you can't reflash it. The only sensible way to use it with large hard drives, or anything vaguely recent, is to set up PBL to load a newer BIOS. Let me know if you want to do that, and I'll see if I can dig out my notes.

HeXEn, burned to DVD-R at 4x or slower. Cold boot, LED turns red, wait 1 minute, press A. Wait 30 seconds, press A. Remove HeXEn DVD, reboot.
If that doesn't work repeat, but after waiting 30 seconds press B, then remove HeXEn and reboot.

Re: XBMC Removal Problems
I don't mind at all! You are right, I had completely forgotten that route. However, a word of caution: if it does load the exploit, then don't try to install a softmod, because the Xbox is probably already softmodded, and installing one softmod on top of another can lead to unpredictable results. Ho...

Re: XBMC Removal Problems
I have two final suggestions for you. Xbox DVD drives are fully interchangeable, regardless of the make of DVD drive or the model of the Xbox. If you have access to another Xbox with a known working DVD drive, temporarily swap the DVD drive over and try booting with HeXEn. You could also try another...

You could also try pressing and holding white + Y all the way through the Xbox boot sequence until the XBMC logo has appeared and gone, just to be certain...... :0

Re: XBMC Removal Problems
I'm not doubting you, but just to be absolutely clear before I head off to the airport: Fire up DVD Decrypter Select Mode - ISO - Write Under "Source", where it says "please select a file", click on the Explorer folder icon, and select the HeXEn iso. Set the write speed to 4x in ...

Re: XBMC Removal Problems
No need to apologise, you definitely aren't making things difficult - quite the reverse. :) I'm not sure what to suggest next... You either need a working boot disc, or you need FTP access, or you have to hotswap the hard drive (boot the Xbox then connect the hard drive to the IDE port on a PC at ex...

Re: XBMC Removal Problems
It shouldn't recognise it at all. On my Windows 7 machine, when I try to open the HeXEn DVD it says "D:\ is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." If yours says anything different then your DVD isn't burned properly. Sorry to keep labouring the point, but once ...

Re: XBMC Removal Problems
If HeXEn boots on your PC then it ISN'T burned properly! Your PC can't read properly burned Xbox discs. What can you see when you put it in your PC? If you can see anything at all then you need to burn a new DVD-R using an image burner, like DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0. Reformatting will only work AFTER y...

Re: XBMC Removal Problems
Can you play a genuine game disc? It sounds as though your DVD drive might be flaky (or it might just need cleaning), but a genuine game disc will help work that out i.e. if it plays then the DVD drive is probably OK. How did you burn HeXEn? More specifically, can you read the DVD in your PC? If you...

Re: XBMC Removal Problems
I am assuming the mod is via modchip, since it is the original dash shown and it does say Microsoft under the xbox logo on startup. That's a poor assumption. A stock Logo and flubber makes it far more likely to be a softmod. Until you know for certain how the Xbox is modded you should stop deleting...

There's no need to quote the immediately preceding post.
You seem to have downloaded an emulator for a PC - .exe are Windows / DOS executable files, not Xbox ones.

I don't think that the Smartxx O/S supports FTP to the Xbox hard drive. Use a boot disc.
