Wondering if anybody has had the same problem.
I have an upgraded xbox mainboard with the ram and cpu upgrade.
It was working perfect.
I went and bought a brand new powersupply that has 110-220v input so it can be used where there is 220v
Something must be wrong with the power supply because it just powered up once and shut right back off
After putting in the original power supply, all the board does now is frag.
Not a very fun thing.
I attached a pic of a basic mobo and highlighted an area near the edge. When I power it up fragging something in that area is getting very hot and burns my finger.
Also the Transistor highlighted starts sizzling and smoking
Hopefully somebody has an idea of what went wrong

Erm... Its dead dude. It sounds like that new PSU blew a resistor/capacitor or something and its bleeding alot of current into the places you mentioned. I would look over the board and see if anything else looks messed up and replace it (if at all possible) If it still FRAGs then the EEPROM or TSOP or something else is F***ed and your board is dead.

unsolder the regulator that is smoking and see if it will boot up. quite often they are in pairs and the other maybe ok.
I would say it is most likely dead and in future dont plug something unknown and 2nd hand into your pride and joy with out first testing it .

Not that it helps this case. I doubt these are available for purchase anywhere but the diagrams and info is still helpful...
