apologies if this has been answered, i have used the forum search and google and couldn't find an obvious answer to this.
i've just put a new 2TB hard drive in the pc that i stream to xbmc4xbox from, and i'm intending to fill it up with a lot of complete series of tv shows and cartoons, so i'd like to preserve the data that keeps track of which episodes have already been watched, so as after i update xbmc4xbox there is still a tick next to any videos that have been watched already.
how do i do this, and is it possible to do it with file mode, or i do i have to enable library mode and create a library database?

Re: backup viewing data before update
Try backing up (FTP transfer) Q:\UserData\Database\*, set one episode as watched, transfer back (restart maybe) and then check watched again.

Or you could try exporting data as XML, might export not only the video information but also the watched flag - check the exported XMLs on your PC.
