XBMC doesn't play VCDs
XBMC doesn't play VCDs
Hello there!
I have in my possesion two, retail, VCDs. One is very old, from the 90s, and one is from 2006.
When inserting a VCD into the console XBMC loops trough two or three different prompts, talking about parsing something. This goes on for barely a minute.
After a while it just gives up saying it couldn't play the video. Same thing happens if I use the filebrowser to try to manually play the video file.
What's wrong with it?
Re: XBMC doesn't play VCDs
I played a VCD on xbmc once, but that was over 10 years ago now... I can confirm that it worked back then (not that it really helps you, sorry)

He wants you to post a log, so people can see what the issue is. That should help in debugging it

Re: XBMC doesn't play VCDs
All I can tell you is that it wasn't recognised - you can try enabling "Full Codec Support" in the video playback settings, or try and play with mplayer to see if that helps.
Re: XBMC doesn't play VCDs
What brand of DVD drive do you have? I vaguely remember that some brands were better than others when it came to reading CD's.

None of the replies people giving here matter.
The problem is the people involved in putting these dashboards and files together, keep screwing with everything so lots of people are getting different experiences and problems making it impossible to track any type of problem.
The community is completely disorganized, and whenever anyone points out a major problem, instead of fixing it, they argue and cause even more problems.
I can count at least 15 things for troubleshooting that don't exist anywhere.
