80mm Silent Fan Mod
Re: 80mm Silent Fan Mod
The 15mm design is not going to move enough air (unless they move very fast? In that case it will be as noisy as the stock fan.)
Will a 70x70x25 work without excessive cutting? The wider blade will push more air at less RPM, quieter.
I am tempted to try one out l. I want to avoid ordering a whole bunch of them if I have to cut anything on the case. Ideally, there's a 70x25 fan that fits in the Xbox without having to modify anything but the fan itself

Re: 80mm Silent Fan Mod
but why isn't my fan controller not responding in changing the Volts?! how much Volts is the 100% setting in XMBC or the 5x speed in the unleashed menu?!
Re: 80mm Silent Fan Mod
nice guide dude. I gonna put a 80mm fan inside. got one here for testing and it was really a pain. Why did you just bend the metal outwards? I don't think you need that metal holder on the top of the grill anymore? I just cut it!whufclee wrote: Step 4:
Now tidy up the rough edges and bend the metal outwards slightly (so the fan doesn't clip it otherwise it will make a very annoying noise!).

Re: 80mm Silent Fan Mod
These used to be the best when they were still available. Wish I had a few laying around. If you find one make sure it's the PRO or else it's alittle too small and the screw holes will not line up with the motherboard.

Re: 80mm Silent Fan Mod
I think you would need a fan that can be manually adjusted for that.scroeffie wrote:i installed a noctua fan realy happy with it ! temps are perfect way better than the chines 1 euro fan
question is there a way to keep the fan running at 100% in game

If softmodded check your softmod settings menu (usually comes with the save)scroeffie wrote:i installed a noctua fan realy happy with it ! temps are perfect way better than the chines 1 euro fan

(Example is NKPatcher Settings, this is what mine is called in my 2016 softmod)
If chipped or TSOPPED, you need to change the fan speed in the bios & reflash it.

Re: 80mm Silent Fan Mod
How do you change the fan speed in the BIOS? Can you then adjust the speed afterwards?

Re: 80mm Silent Fan Mod
Depending on what bios you used, it could be a simple as editing a file on your Xbox HDD or using a application on your PC to change it.XC-3730C wrote:How do you change the fan speed in the BIOS? Can you then adjust the speed afterwards?

Just edit your C:\ind-bios.cfg with a text editor & add fanspeed=50 for 100%scroeffie wrote:i have a indi 5003 bios ,so what you are saying when you play a game the fan wil run at 100%

if you do your running the internal config, you will need to add one to C:\
Here is mine, with the fan speed set to 100%, just change the boot paths to what you need.
