Vision 4 overheating - tweak fan speed?

Post by asktoby »

Hello,

I'm running Visionary 4 from within XBMC.

When I run some titles (e.g. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) the system will freeze after about 10 minutes.
Powering off and on again will cause freezes during the Microsoft flubber, and even freezes while loading XBMC. It might take me a few goes to get back to XBMC.
However, wait 2 minutes for the system to cool down and it all runs fine again.
The system is well aerated.
I have found and turned up XBMC's fan speed settings. They work while within XBMC.
However, when I then run Vision 4 from within XBMC the fan speed goes back to the default low speed.

Is there any way to manually tweak the Vision 4 fan speed?

I've trawled through the Vision 4 directories for useful .cfg files but didn't spot anything.

If your softmodded, you can increase the stock speed easily.
If your hardmodded depending on the bios, you will need to edit the bios & reflash it to the Xbox.

Vision/Visionary are based off the XBMC code and breach the XBMC GPL licence. They also ship with copyrighted software. This is not the right forum to discuss them.

to add a little more to rocky's advice, if you are hard modded and have x2 5035 bios or ind-bios you should have no trouble altering fan speed from the respective bios config file.

it is agnostic to which program you are running, that way you don't get scolded for mentioning evildoers
